View Full Version : Lush Cosmetics
Anyone here use hair and face stuff from Lush?
They're 100% organic, all vegetarian and, whenever possible, vegan. That means no icky preservatives in any products, or chemicals. All the products are technically edible.
My R'N'B styling cream (for hair) by Lush Cosmetics contains things like organic cocoa butter and extra virgin coconut oil. Yuuum!
Any other Lush lovers out there? :D

Which Lush are you talking about, do you have a link?
If it's the one I'm thinking about, where the stuff in the store is often in large chunks (like the soap) etc. Then I think you might be thinking they are more natural than they are (most people do). Some of their stuff contains SLS, EDTAs etc. It certainly aint edible, technical or otherwise!
It is a step up though. :)

My only problem with LUSH is that everything is made anywhere but the USA. And since I am from the USA, I'd rather support a local soap maker.

I used to use it....but I am very sensitive to scent and so many of their products gave me a headache.

Yes, their products are not all natural since they use fragrance oils. He's actually a trained perfumer. I can't even be in their shop for any length of time and, I think it was their bath bomb we got, in blue. Turned my tub blue and took forever to get it out.
It's so easy to make my own products... bath bombs and scrubs. Don't need to pay their prices.

I've used Luch products for a long time and I think its a good step in the right direction. They are certainly better than most cosmetic brands. And if you live in the UK they are convenient and not too expensive.
Up until very recently I was using their cleanser and I still use their moisturiser as its the only product I've found that works with my skin. I've tried a lot of other natural brands including Raw Gaia who use only raw ingredients in their products but they made my skin dry and caused a lot of break outs.
But I've just started using raw honey as a cleanser. I've only been using it a few days but I haven't had a breakout since and my skin is lovely and smooth so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just need to find something to replace my moisturiser now.

I love lush. I dont use a lot of products anyway, but I use their henna.
I do like to recommend lush to people. Give them a definite source for vegetarian, cruelty-free products. Most poeple love it, and I am happy they arent contributing to animal torture.
