Hey all! So I used to be raw (about 70%) and now I'm trying to return to it. For some reason, I'm finding it more difficult! But everyday is a new day, right? I'm doing well all through the day and then poof, at night, it's all over. I'll overcome this hurtle, eventually....
Anyway, that's my short little story. I'm Tessa and I'm looking forward to getting some great recipes, advice, sharing stories and seeing other people's successes for inspiration!

Hi Tessa.
I suspect that you are not eating enough during the day and then you crumble in the evening.
Eat more. Try stuffing yourself with fruit for a few days and see what happens. Have at least 10 bananas during the day as well as lots of other things. I eat up to 10 bananas most days and all I have room for in the evenings are a few peaches or a bunch of grapes.

I have not heard this before but I can see that it could happen. It is not something that happens in Ireland and a little african boy died here a few years ago after a back street operation.
I must say that I saw a TV program some years ago where they got a map of africa that was colour coded according to the prevalence of AIDS and then they superimposed a transparent map shaded according to the tribes that practised circumcision and they matched proving that there is far less aids where there is circumcision.
They claimed that the foreskin presented a gateway for the disease.
I suppose that 2 wrongs do not make a right.

hey sport - I think this reply goes in the circumcision thread :p

Sorry it has taken me this long to get back...I'm over by Eau Claire. In a small town. So greetings from the other side of the state! How's the raw thing working out for you over there?

You ARE quite a ways away from me!
Things are good here.....I am the manager of a small health food store, so I have Raw options available & fresh organic produce as well :)
Are you finding everything you have needed so far?
Are there any health food stores in your area? If you can't find something - don't be afraid to ask them to look into it!

Welcome to the site. I too did this for a while and fell off, and finding hard to get back, I have 6 days raw. So far so good. You might try eating more during the day.

I've found that on days when I don't get enough greens, I'm ravenous and could devour everything in sight if I allowed myself to. Problem is easily solved with a nice green smoothie - either fruit + greens, or the one that's quickly becoming a favorite - tomatoes, cucumber, celery, red or yellow bell pepper, lots of spinach (or another green), 2 - 2 1/2 cups water.

Also when I don't get enough water, I feel hungry, cranky, tired, etc. So make sure you're getting plenty of water throughout the day as well. Often thirst can make you think you're hungry, when what you actually need is just water. :)
