Hello forum! I'm Peaches. This is not my first time embarking on a raw journey but I'm hoping to make it my first permanent one! This time around is going to be a lot harder than last though. I discovered raw when I was 14 and a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 3 years so the transition wasn't horrible. I'm now 16 and started eating meat a few months ago. Apparently I wasn't a very good vegetarian because my health greatly improved, my hormones began to slowly balance (I'm at risk for PCOS), and I even lost a bit of weight. But I feel so bad! I became a vegetarian because I love animals and the environment and I'm sick of going against my beliefs when there are other ways to be healthy. (and lose some weight, I grudgingly admit)

So here I am! I've been raw for 2 days and the transition is already wicked, headaches, irritability, bloating, and a distended belly that is most unattractive :-( However, I've also felt a super energy boost and my body feels so light and airy, I feel if I jump high enough I could fly. I slipped up and ate some fish with romaine lettuce leaves but all part of the journey to rawsomeness I suppose. Soo, if you managed to make it through this novel of an introduction, another happy hello! and any tips for dealing with the transition symptoms I mentioned would be lovely. ^.^

Hey Peaches, welcome to the forums. There are a lot of wonderful people here to help you out on your journey.
A lot of times bloating from detoxification just has to pass at it's own rate, but having some parsley (and perhaps oregano) would be worth a try. Also, try not to eat fatty foods in the same meal as sugary foods for the first week or so, that usually helps. Make sure you drink lots of lots and water. For me, the irritability passed within a couple of days. Good luck!

Hi Peaches.
I admire your courage. It can not be easy to go raw at your age but will be very worthwhile.
My advice is to buy some lara bars and always have one in your bag. If you are out with your friends and you are hungry then temptation will get you but either grab a few bananas or eat a lara bar and you can do this.
If you fail to plan then you plan to fail.
