Tamarind Juice?

Hey everyone!
I'm down in Mexico doing a juice fast with my sister and buying all sorts of weird things in the markets.
This morning I got some tamarind, which used to be one of my favorite things as a child, but when I got home I figured I really didn't know how to juice it. I looked it up online and the only suggestion then had was to soak it, press it with your hands and strain it afterwards. I was wondering if anyone ever juiced tamarind and if anyone ever attempted to put it through the juicer...

Making tamarind juice with your fingers works best, as mashing with a spoon or fork does not do as efficient a job in dissolving the soft pulp and will either take more time or waste a lot of tamarind.
