I am currently transitioning from a pretty healthy SAD to raw. Right now i'm about 90% raw.

My husband and I decided to start a workout regimin of Insanity by Beach Body. We also got P90X but decided to do the 60 days of Insanity first....Well today was my first day and after doing the fit test I thought I was gonna die!!! OMG what a workout and it was only 30 mins. I very regulary run but man that was intense!!! Anyone else doing Insanity or P90x, or finished it?

I really want to be 100% raw but am worried my body is gonna need more dense calories doing these types of intense workouts.

Any advice or tips??

Thanks Michigan roman, I checked him out...
is it completely essential to have raw nuts? Does it make that big of a difference if I get the regular roasted ones? I can't stand stand soaking them and eating soggy nuts. I'm deffinately gonna up my avocado intake. I was eating a 1/2 a day (thought I would be getting too many calories) I start my day off with a green banana smoothie, I will start supplimenting my diet with bananas throughout the day. Hopefully that will help with my craving for cooked food in the evening.. :)

THANKS!

Careful with the fats. Just because its raw doesn't mean it going to be good. I have plenty experience with eating to many nuts/seeds and packing on fat.
Just eat a lot of fruit. Gives you lots of instant energy. Its easier on the body and assimilates really quick.

Personally, I like to sprout my nuts. If you find that they're "too soggy" you can always just put them in the dehydrator for a bit. I'm currently reading "Living Food for Health" by Dr. Gillian McKeith, who spends three pages of her first chapter raving about the incredible health benefits of sprouts. She sites studies that claim they are more readily digestible than other foods (due to enzymes), give you more energy, have anti-aging properties, aid weight loss and have 15 to 30 percent more protein than when unsprouted.

Good luck!

i wont spend the money to have raw nuts shipped

so i eat the raw walnuts and almonds from store

i know the almonds are irridated by the idiot fda

but the walnuts im not sure

i opt as much as i can for seeds like pumpkin / sun / sesame / flax
for protein / good fats

though i crave walnuts and almonds alot , ecspecially almomd milk smoothies with bananas , so i eat them in whatever near raw anddsaltless condition the main grocery stores sell them

my main intake is fruit / salads / water anyway so im not super stressed if the almonds / walnuts arent raw . though the irridation is a concern for sure .
thank our idiot washed up ruling class for that great idea

Hey, everyone! First post here!

It was nice to see your thread. We're on the same wavelength. I started a fast transition to raw along with the start of the Insanity program over a month ago. I just finished my recovery week. You posted this some weeks back so you've probably figured things out by now.

I've made great progress with this program eating raw. I've been a bit surprised by that because the workout requires so much of one's body. The few times I've tried it after eating cooked food I have felt some nausea and a lack of stamina. I have found that I need to have a bit emptier stomach than usual for a workout to avoid the upset stomach these sessions can induce (it's a very common experience for those who do this). There have been a couple times when I bonked, though. I seem to do better if I add some salt to my diet as I sweat so profusely from this.

Overall, my ability to get through these workouts has helped sell me on raw. I think it's been a big help. Let me know if you need any advice or support! Good luck!
