Mindful mama

Hi all!
I'm almost 31, I live in wisconsin with my dp of 11 years & dd almost 3 years. I've been a dancer as long as I can remember, I am currently a Pilates teacher & Reiki practioner. In my past I was an on
and off vegetarian, loved sweets; seemingly healthy, very strong body.
About a year and a half ago my mom was diagonsed with type 2 diabetes. She is quite overweight, unhealthy, on lots of meds, with a bad SAD habit. This was right before I turned 30. I made a choice that my life would not follow that same path, but wasn't sure what that meant.
While doing some research on diabetes, I came upon the DVD raw for 30 days. I ordered it immediately and was convinced that was the path for me. I got a juicer for my b day and began adding in raw food and supplements.
I had a very hard time getting up to 100% raw. Recently I joined a 7 day raw food challenge followed by a 10day juice fast. I did it! My body felt awesome and I felt very good about myself. I realized my trouble before was that I had no support, no one else to hold accountability. A forum was included as part of the challenge and fast, that made all the difference.
That's why I'm here; support and accountability. Recipes and new ideas are also helpful!!
I'm about 85% raw; if I eat cooked it's veggies and/or
simple grains, no wheat, no dairy.
A few things I see in my future; clear skin (I've had painful acne for quite some time), a dehydrator, more juice fasts, and to feel brave enough to talk to my mom about diabetes and raw food!!
Thanks for getting to know me! I am so happy to be here!
Cheers!!
