Yay!! Day 30!! Woo!!!

Okay so I haven't made it a full 30 days, and am still "high raw" right now instead of 100%, but I consider this month a victory as I did pull off quite some time of 100%, had a slip up, figured out what I was doing wrong, and am on the path to my own method to raw. My goal is to be back onto 100% raw tomorrow and make it the full 30 days for July! Some days may be high raw instead of 100%, but the non-raw items will all be healthful and have a purpose - as opposed to just pigging out on SAD foods because I'm having cravings and whatnot. The real issue that still remains for me is lunches at work. I'm still having a bit of a time balancing my time in the morning, preparing whatever to take, and having it be filling and energizing enough at lunch time. But I'll figure it out!

Today's plan:

Lemon Honey Water (drinking right now! So refreshing for the morning!)
Green Smoothie
Fruits (Apple and Banana!)
Large salad for lunch
Dried fruits/veggies for snack
Tomato soup for dinner?

Not sure about dinner yet but it'll likely be soup again. I'm just so in love with my soup recipe! I'll have to share it in the recipe area as I believe it was taken from another site, so there is no thread here, and maybe someone else would love some soup too! :)

Today is my holistic doc appointment and hopefully an end to post-nasal drip nastiness. I'm really nervous about what she's going to suggest I do, but I also know she's very into natural healing (duh! Holistic!) so I may be okay. The thing I'm certain of is that I'm not doing anything I'm not comfortable with (I've been bullied into antibiotics before and it only served to cause other problems and didn't clear the issue!) and I'm not doing anything I don't research/know about first. I'm open to her expertise, but I'm going to stand up for myself if something doesn't seem right! I'm also pushing to get major help with my fatigue/pain I'm in. I'm sick of living in exhausted pain. Raw food is totally healing, I know, but I need a bandaid right now to get me through the transition, and help fix imbalances or whatever I have going on, that might not be possible with just raw food - or might require eating ridiculous amounts of something which just isn't feasible. I'm going to tell her I'm a Raw Foodist and make sure that is taken into account with whatever I'm offered. I'm really not wanting to take drugs, but I've believe for ages I have a thyroid issue, and I'd like a few months of relief from that, and then hopefully raw food will kick in, and I can get right back off whatever.

ANYWHO - I'll post an update after I go - hopefully a happy one ;) Best wishes to all and happy raw fooding!

Good morning people! It's been a real pleasure doing this challenge with you guys. There were some days I failed at 100%, but was at least high raw on those days.

Gossy, good luck at your appointment today.

Here is my plan today:
Breakfast - orange, kale smoothie
Lunch - melon
Supper - banana, apple, lemon, spinach smoothie

Hi all,
Just wanted to check in since I joined the challenge but haven't participated in the thread. It's been a difficult month, but I've had lots of juices, smoothies & sprouts. Toasting in green for the vibrantly healthy month of July visible on the horizon!

Congrats to those who are on day 30! What an accomplishment! So glad I did the challenge. It has been awesome, and even if I wasn't 100% every day, I wasn't far off. I'm also down 10# and feeling really good.

I won't be continuing the challenge into July, but I hope to be back in August. Good luck to those of you who are continuing on! :D

B: green smoothie with banana, nut milk, spinach, apricots
L: live gardenburger on romaine with tomato and avo
S: dates mushed with coconut
D: not sure

Well I had quite the adventure filled day, including getting stuck at the office 2 hours later than I wanted to be!

But at any rate, my holistic doctor was great. As expected she listened to all my concerns and gave me some suggests/supps/meds to help right away. I'm going for a multitude of blood work tomorrow to see what deficiencies might be kicking around making me fatigued. I'm happy to get the answers to that riddle and fix that up after all these years (assuming it isn't still just my transition to raw/detox, if all my labs come back fine then I'll just keep plugging away and wait for my body to finish healing up). She also gave me Diflucan for my nose. Apparently my symptoms/issue sound like a yeast infection in my sinuses! This is sort of what I was expecting after all the research I've done. I'll be taking two weeks of it and seeing how it works. I didn't really want to take a drug drug for it, but considering the longevity of this infection I'm not sure homeopathic remedies alone would work. But I also told her how I Neti Pot, and she gave me powdered acidophilius (sp?) to put in the pot! What an awesome idea. Also suggested was steam treatments with tea tree oil. Boil some water, put some oil in, and hang out over it for a while. Definitely going to try that too, and it sounds like something relaxing that I can do at night to get restful and fall asleep easier.

The best part though was the discussion about diet. In discussing what might be causing the sinus problems I told her that I'm working on following a raw food diet. There were more details involved and discussion, but at the end she told me I was "definitely on the right track" with my foods/diet. Woo!!! She was even respectful of being vegan along with that.

I have to say, I'm super relieved and feeling better already. I'm very hopeful some of these new remedies will finally kick this year + of sinus issue out of me. And maybe that will alleviate some of my fatigue too. I'm also glad to get blood work done and make sure nothing else is going on. Considering the dramatic change raw food has brought me, I wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if my blood work was fine - in which case I know I just need to stick it out with raw and get extra rest and let my body heal. But if something is amiss, I feel confident now that my Doc will be open to dietary suggestions for fixing things, or at the very least, the most natural remedies possible, or short term use of anything really "pharmaceutical". So woo!

Of course work stressed me the heck out which is no good for any of my issues :) so I am crawling into bed now, a bit early, and getting extra rest (hopefully) so I can tackle the rest of this week. This was a perfect end to the month and a great motivator for jumping into 100% for next month and seeing where it takes me! Hope to see you all over in the threads for July!!

Rebecca~
What a day! Hope you get some answers and some relief.

I am so glad I did the challenge this month and will continue. I am down 14 lbs, sleeping better, more energy and NO headaches and feeling so much more positive and connected to myself. Have company staying with us and doing a lot of cooking for them, also going on vacation to NY for 11 days this month and that will be interesting. My son belongs to a great natural food co-op in Albany so will be going there with him to stock up for the week and then off to Elmira for my Mother's 90th birthday celebration. We'll be exploring some of the lower Adirondack region too to try and decide where we want to move. Will be staying raw on my trip and really looking forward to it!
