Hi All :)

I'm a single Mum currently in Western Australia (any other Aussie's here?).

I've heard bits about raw diet on & off over the last 5 or so years in particular since being Veganish. I've always thought I'd like to try raw but didn't know how to. We're about 50-70% raw but as I'm breastfeeding my 9mo DD I'm hesitant to make any big moves yet as I don't want my rubbish getting dumped on blossum through my milk.

We will be attending a Raw Cooking class next Sat with Raw Food Karen & am very excited :D Have been enjoying her food recently when I can at our city PAWS cafe... yummmmmmmmmmm.

Hello Shell and welcome to the forum! Yes, there are other Aussie's here and hope they chime in.You are fortunate to live in an area with raw foodies and can attend a class. Best wishes to you and Blossum on your raw journey.

Hey Kilico, are you connected up with the raw food community here in Melbourne?

There is a meetup group called Raw Food Melbourne, and also a facebook group called Botanical Cuisine, we have Yong Green Foods and lots of raw products etc.

No, I didn't know there was much of a raw scene here. I know lots of other vegans, but no-one raw.

There's actually a really strong raw community here in Melbourne. You can hook up with many of them via the meetup.com group, and at various events. Go to Yong Green Food in Brunswick Street and try some raw food at a cafe, odds on you'll be sitting in the restaurant with a bunch of rawbies and not know it. One of the two sisters that own the place is a raw foodist (Sunju).

World Vegan Day 2010 (Sun Oct 31st at The Convent in Abbotsford) will bring together many raw businesses with lots of products and the community groups, it's gonna be a huge day!

If you ever want to know where to get stuff (products, books, info etc.) from, just let me know. :)
