I would like to know about the avo cup as well ;)

I have figured out something the past 2 days. My tummy digests fruits so much better than veggies. When I ate the salad, and the zucchini, pasta with chopped up carrots, I started feeling really bad again. Very tired, and sluggish. My bowels stopped working too, and I felt like I did when I ate cooked foods.
But when I eat fruits, and greens in the form of a smoothie, I have so much more energy, and my tummy is happy.

So today I will focus on fruits, and smoothies to get my greens in.
I don't have a problem eating fruits, but I find that I do get tired of eating fruit all the time, and in the evenings, I crave something more savory, salty, and crunchy.
Maybe I will sit down today with my 10 raw un-cook cookbooks ;)
and see if I can make a list of foods I think my tummy and digestion can handle. I know it would be easy to eat a lot of fruits in the summer, but not sure how to do it in the winter??
I also need to stay away from nuts, and nut butters, they really do me in as well. Even when I soak them, they still don't seem to digest at all.
I think the avocados are fine, and I can do almond milk.
The only thing with eating avocados, is that if I'm being careful about food combining, what can you combine avocados with besides salads, and veggies?
I don't think you can combine it with fruit, because of the high fat content, even though avocados are a fruit. Is this true?
Of course I would have no problem just making a meal out of a few avocados, but that always seems to trigger major cravings, I guess also do to the fat content??

Everyone have a great day, and I'll be back to report tonight.

Hi everyone

I have been completely of the raw for a week now, due to exam stress and other bad excuses. I have not had any raw at all but fried food, coffee sugar ect. I gained everything I've lost since I started 1 May, around 6-7 lbs. I hope some of it is accumulated water, but I'm amazed that I did this to my self... I feel terrible. I will be 30 next week, and will keep a birthday for my family, and really wanted to look good :(

Anyway, could use some support, and I'm starting again today.

had a large GS and a cucumber and tomatosalad with olives and avo.

On day 3 of 100% :D. Never made it past 2 days before so I'm stoked :D . Had 3 oranges for breakfast, a piece of raw fudge for a snack and 1/2 pound carrots for lunch so far. I'm thinking of eating some more fudge later and probably a salad for supper tonight. I think I ate too many carrots though, I was feeling satiated but they tasted so good I kept eating and now I feel nauseated :o. Oh well, I guess pigging out on carrots till you puke is better than doing the same with chips and beer eh?

Welcome back :)

I'm still feeling cruddy... headache, fatigue, episodes of light nausea. Blech. I haven't exercised in seveal days now because of feeling this way. I just feel generally weak.

I have to see what is going on in the fridge. I might just do smoothies today with a salad tonight. My avocadoes are taking forever to ripen, no matter if they're on the counter or in a paper bag with an apple.

Hi all...

Sorry that there are a few of you feeling a bit cruddy, but at the same time it's probably good to get that gunk out of our systems :o. I expect that I'll be going through that as well very soon.

Off of work early again this morning, so I plan to get the lawn mowed and the garden watered before it gets too hot. I'm ready for warm weather, but not the hot weather! It looks like we're in for hot all this week!

I'll be alternately posting here and the fasting thread. I'm on my first day and so far it's been easy. Guess I was ready...

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry for those feeling a little down or not like themselves.

I tried to make all of my food this past weekend to last all week but I'm almost out already. So I'm going to make a few things tonight. I went to Penzey's spice store and got lots of neat spices and blends and I can't wait to incorporate some of those into some raw recipes. Their Vietnamese cinnamon and smoked paprika is out of this world.

Food today:

Sweet potato things I made ( I don't have a name for them but they are one of the best things I've made)

Raw Gazpacho

Champagne mango

Unchicken salad in a lettuce wrap

Gonna try to eat a really green salad tonight.....

Bagalamukhi, WELL DONE for getting back to it, it aint easy after a week of cooked, I know, cause I've done the same! I've just spent a week of eating raw food in the day and a cooked meal in the evening, but I am now finding it tough to get back to 100%. The fact we're here though proves we're determined and know what's good for us! LOL! My mind does keep trying to play tricks on me today but so far, so good, it's now 19.30 and I haven't succumbed to cooked!

Brekkie - kale, spinach, banana, grapes, date smoothie
Snack - avocado
Lunch - blueberry, banana, passion fruit, grape, hemp oil and greens smoothie
Dinner - blueberry, banana, passion fruit and grape smoothie
Snack - banana, 2 dates and a few bits dried mango

Hope everyone's enjoying the challenge!

DBF stayed home from work sick today. Maybe it's not detox I'm going through, maybe it's my body fighting something off.

I'm just not really feeling very into food at the moment. I just had a small salad and after my first bite didn't want anymore. I finished it, though, just because I hate wasting food. I've been perusing the fasting threads because I have a feeling my body is needing a juice fast/feast. Darned finances won't allow it at the moment, so I'm going to do what I can.

Even my smoothie yesterday didn't give me the usual energy... It's interesting what the body tells you when you listen to it. :)

Hello all! Sorry to hear some of you are feeling poorly :( Welcome back Bagalamukhi! :)

Cathy, I'm similar in that I think I digest fruits better. I've always gravitated to fruits. I do get tired of the sweetness and crave crunchy/savory. I do okay with some veggies, but too much in one day is not good!

I've been rather low-energy the past couple days. I exercised today (45 min tae bo) despite that, but it didn't give me the usual pep. I've also had a headache that isn't from my neck being out of place. More detoxing I suppose. I've been doing a colon cleanse, so I imagine that's stirring up a lot more toxins.

B: purple smoothie with a ton of kale, lemon juice, blueberries banana raw almond milk and a little honey
L: zucchini noodles with raw marinara
S: fresh apricots, grapes, orange
D: will probably finish off my mock tuna
S: will be definitely eating some of my half-raw freezer fudge (non-raw honey and cocoa powder)

Hi all, I am so sad to hear of some of y'alls downs..focus on the ups and it will happen..

I've hada full day of going all over the place; picking my daughter up from a sleep over, aking my son to get a haircut, buying shoes, taking some other shoes back and on and on..Finally got home late lunch and took time for me..by working out for 45 min..I will be feeling it tomorrow or on friday (I tend to go two days before my soreness sets in). Foodwise, this is what I've had today...

B-very purple smoothie-spinach, lots of it, banana, strawberries and blueberies
S-apple
L-pineapple, cantelope, banana and strawberries with coconut, hemphearts, almonds and cinnamon...
S- after my workout I ate a half of a watermelon
D-Made a guacmix to day that turned out yummy wrapped in collard leaves, had some pineapple and mango for dessert..

Feel better all, see you tomorrow..

Hey all, good to see you're persevering! :D Hang in there!
GlimR, all those cacao things sound AMAZING. Yum.
Past few days have been good, something seriously slowed up my digestion though, I'm not entirely sure what it was. There was a disastrous attempt at green juice, otherwise been having grapes, strawberries, green smoothies and my new favorite treat, frozen banana/tahini vanilla ice cream. Mmmmm.

(It's so hard not to buy my cherished almond butter, but I'm in the process of finding a fp, and I know I can make my own once it gets here).
