Hi everyone,
I hope I'm posting in the right area, if not please move me, thanks in advance.

The Bad News
I have fallen off the raw food wagon for some time now and I am truly sick and tired of looking and feeling like crap. I health problem I want to address right now is acne. I have for quite some time started breaking out with acne, literally everyday I see a new one develop and yet the older ones are still there, they take forever to go away and are leaving scars. The reason I'm focusing on acne is because its something you can see, I know from other posts that a lot of health problems will clear up on a high raw diet which is great but its not something that can be seen by others, so while my body attends to cleaning up my other health issues, acne is the one that I want to focus on here.

The Good News
Today I caught up with the raw food wagon and hopped on, bucled up my safety belt so I dont fall off again and off we went :) I feel good about this and I am determined to clear up my acne once and for all. I have searched through past posts on this forum about acne and people have said there's has cleared up but what I want to do is provide before and after photos to prove once and for all that raw food will clear acne for those people who are still not too sure (I'm using myself as the guinnea pig here oink oink). I'm doing this because its now that iam in my early 40's that I have started to experience this. And it really does ruin a person's self image, confidence and if I can help just one person out there by seeing the transformations through my own photos then it was worth the shot!

Wish me luck, the before photos should be uploaded in a few days time. The after photos will be loaded each month so you can track my progress. Not sure how long it will take, but I will keep on going until my skin is TOTALLY clear :)

Note:
I will be also using the recomendations of Rawpriestess and Sweetgoddess by using the parsley smash on my face, then the honey, then finish off with coconut oil as a moisturiser.

Wish me luck!
Jo-anne

I'll join you Jo-Ann for support, as another testimonial of raw helping acne to clear up and because I, too, would like to get rid of my acne once and for all. It's not nearly as bad as it used to be, but it's still there...a constant reminder of the fact that I have not had "baby's-bottom-smooth" skin since before puberty struck!

So, I'll have some pics uploaded as well in my journal area and we can do this together!

Thats great Rawkinlocs, I really appreciate your support. I'm getting the photos taken today by my partner and will upload them asap.

We can do this!

It will be great to see your progress. I personally suffer from rosacea which is a bacterial infection that you supposedly can not get rid of but just suppress with anti-biotics and topical gels. As you can see from my journal photos I have it pretty bad, it's also acne like. I'm hoping, and some discussions I had here about 8 months ago gave hope, that raw will get rid of it. I just started on Day 1 of a 30 day challenge today (sunday) so I'm interested to see how I track as well on healing from my rosacea.

Raw is the only thing that has ever made my acne almost dissapear! My face clears up within a week or so of being 100% and I don't break out unless I eat lots of nuts. Good luck to you, I know how painful acne can be (physically and emotionally)

Congratulations Flyinion for starting your 30 day challenge, please keep us posted on your progress. I get a lot of inspiration from hearing about people who have healed their health problems. I tried looking for your photos to see the rosacea you spoke about but couldnt find your photos...it could be that I wasn't searching in the right place but I will keep searching through this forum, I'm still trying to find my way around it....I'm not that good with computers unfortunately.

Rawmommie your right acne can be painful and very distressing emotionally. I'm so happy that your acne cleared up withing a week, I mean that is absolutely awesome or should I say "Rawsome" !!! I do hope mine clears up just as quickly, my partner took photos of my acne tonight but will have to wait until tomorrow to load them up. And thank you so much about mentioning the nuts, I am starting to make some dishes that require a lot of nuts, now I will modify them and take out the nuts for now.

Jo-anne, remember, all our bodies are different. My body responds badly to nuts, but in the beginning you should just be focusing on staying raw. If you find in the future that your body responds badly to nuts then you can cut them out. I don't want anyone to think that you can't have nuts. I think a lot of people forget or don't soak them, and that is an important step in making them easier for our bodies to digest! :)
