I want to do a water fast. Anyone wants to join me for mutual encouragement and accountability? Short-term or Intermittent water fast is alright.

I expect to do water fast for some days. So I will be here on Wed..
I cannot read people talking about their delicious juices right now. That will weaken my will to do water fast. When I do juice fast I will join the summer fasting thread.

I am a little tired and hungry today. I took a long nap this afternoon.
I had a very minor slip while I was preparing dinner for my hubby. I decided to forgive myself and move on.
Count me in
You are in. :)

joyce, it's totally your decision of course, since this is your thread. since you don't want people talking about juices around you, you could give the same to your fellow fasters by not discussing food.
just a thought...

Aleesha, Thanks for responding. I edited my previous posting according to your suggestion.
But really there is NO rule in this thread, except that it is a thread for water fasting. Fellow fasters may talk about their slips or their thoughts on food or their diet before/after the fast. They can talk about pretty much every expereince and any thought that may occur during a water fast. The purpose of this thread is just to cheer ourselves on to stay with water fast.
I did not say I don't want people talking about juices around me in this thread. I just declined to join the other thread which has a lot of happy juice-fasters. It is just that it is easier for me to stay with water fast if I am with only water-fasters cheering ourselves on.

Today for a good part of the day I felt a bit tired. Thankfully I haven’t had other detox symptoms. I do try to sweat a lot, by not turning on A/C. My understanding is that many toxins go out with sweat.

Thank you Sidrah for your kind words. Water fast for me needs much pre-fast mental preparation. Also, before this water fast, for more than three months my main intake was green smoothies, mostly savory green smoothies. That helped me gain a certain measure of self-control with regards to foods. Also I gained some new perspective on foods: NOT every morsel of my foods has to be delicious; a good part of my food intake could be more for health than for temporary pleasure to my taste buds. Plus, I believe those three months of mostly GS cleansed my body to a degree; so right now I haven't had detox symptoms other than lacking energy. When I did water fast in the past, by Day 2 I had pains on my body and headache.

I took a break from water fast and had plenty of fruits. I am restarting my fast today. I plan to go for 5 days this time. Anyone wants to join me for a couple of days?

Day 2 is smooth sailing, just like Day 1. I have less energy than usual, but not tired.

Last night as I lay on bed I felt great calm in my body, as if my body had entered into a rest.
Today I feel tired. In the afternoon I felt a very mild headache for about one hour. Otherwise today has been a good fast day. I have few thoughts on foods.

Last night on my bed before I fell asleep I felt a little sore all over my body. But today has been a good day. My energy is better than the previous two days.

I had several minor slips today while preparing food for my family. So today does not count as a fast day. I am taking a break tomorrow because of a social. Saturday I will restart fasting.
Yesterday I ran into a friend I had not seen for a couple of months. She looked at my face and exclaimed, "Your skin looks so beautiful, so delicate!" I was truly surprised and tried to make self-depreciatory remarks, but she insisted she was telling the truth. Well, I have known her for 10 years and indeed this was the first time she complimented me on my skin.
I had been a little worried that weight loss (due to water fast) might age my skin. Now I feel relieved that it seems so far no damage is done. So I am encouraged to go on fasting.

I fasted only half of the day today and had supper. Tomorrow I definitely will restart my fast. I plan to go for 5 days this week: Sunday through Thursday.
Last week on the second day of my fast, I started to have red bumps on part of my body which were a little ichy. I was not sure if they were detox. Yesterday as I ate plenty of fruits they completely disappeared. Today as I water fasted on the first part of the day they returned near evening time! So now I know they indeed are detox. It is interesting for me to observe such detox symptom as I never got any detox symptom in my over 6 months of all raw diet. I am curious about what these bumps mean but I guess I will never get a true answer.

For three days in a roll I only fasted till suppertime. So I guess I am not ready to go on fasting right now. Thank you all you silent view-ers for keeping me company these two weeks.:)
