Hi everyone,
I just registered and am learning my way around. I want to do the 30 day challenge but have a question. Since I am coming from a very SAD diet, can I first do a 30-day 85% raw or does it have to be 100% from the get-go?
I'd like to do 85% and journal etc, then do the full 100%. Meaning one meal per day of lightly cooked veggies, potatoes, etc. Is this allowed or should I wait to journal when I am ready for the 100%?
Thanks!
kay

you can do it however you like, its for you. the point is to strive to do raw foods, but you need to do what feels best for you.
Best,
Alissa.
p.s im moving this thread to the challange forum after you read it. thanks!

I have a related question? I registered (made a username and uploaded a pic) is that all I have to do to be a part of the challenge? I didn't see anywhere to put a date or anything?
Hi Karen,
regarding the challenge: you can start whenever you want, so when you feel you are ready for it, do it!
you can post a reply to your own picture, and then you write the start date, and start journalling. You can write about how you are feeling, what you did that day, what you ate, etc. It's your journal, so you can basically write what you want!
If you want some ideas, you can always check other people's journal.
Take care and good luck!
Good luck to you too Kay! :)

Hi, I want to learn more about raw food diet. I understand that it helps to heal your body and definetly need that. I am very ill. I have SLE, glaucoma, high blood pressure, sinusititis and over weight by 60 lbs. The carbs and sugar products are killing me, seriously. I eating some raw veg and fruits now but I need to go up to 85% raw.
I was on the atkin's diet, and loose 55 lbs but gain it back because of steroid intake; then the disadvantage in increase my muscus (sinus) so I have to stop.
I am 42 years old, 198 lbs and living in ingston, Jamaica. There are not much raw food restaurant or stories on the island. Can anyone help to guide me along this journey.
Help me, please

leespike,
I came from the Atkins diet also. It may have initially helped me lose weight, but I never got healthier! I'm glad you have found this place. :)
I don't have any raw restaurants where I live either, I just eat lots of fresh fruit and vegi's from the store. I do go to the health food store in town when I have the extra money, but sometimes I don't. What matters is that you start taking steps to heal your body. However quickly you can, start eating more raw foods. I can tell you that as soon as I cut out meat I immediately felt better. Our bodies weren't meant to eat it, I believe this now.
Good luck and welcome to the board!
Karen

Leespike,
Welcome to our neighborhood! Alot of us are in the same situation as you concerning restaurants and stores. But you are in a wonderful place. We dont have stores and restaurants that cater to this lifestyle either. I am new here also. I did atkins some years ago and it did work, but anything that you stick to in my opinion works in some way or other. This community offers great support and loads of recipes for un-cooking. Give it a try - what a difference it is making for me.
