Hello folks!
My name is "J" (I am a female) and I have been looking at this forum for awhile now. I have read and believe it or not watched videos on youtube from folks who live the raw lifestyle. I have searched and searched for information on the internet. I watched a film titled "The beautiful truth" as related to Gerson. I enjoyed the information and looked further into it. I received the gift of a kidney 5 years ago and I just want to do right by it. I know it all sounds horrible, but I know that I shall live a long full life and this life style seems right for me. Putting toxic things into this body is not what I want to do.
I gained weight after surgery. That part was planned, but I never lost the weight. I lost 40 pds prior to surgery to be healthier. I guess the rude remarks from family somehow got me down, but I am up and ready! Family remarks are hard to shake for me.
I grew up eating fried everything(Southern diet) We weren't the wealthiest folks,so go figure being overweight. My brother lost his weight pretty much with help from his friend, but I gained and he is somewhat discouraging. I am in college,so we live together. He is a good brother, but he thinks he knows what I should do in order to lose weight.
folks think that my portion controls are off,but no. I never over eat. It was the things I ate with not much exercise that drove me to be overweight. I sort of hate the stereotype that every doctor and nutritionist told me. They probably thought I lied. I got full fairly fast and gave the rest to my brothers or parents. I know not everyone who eats raw is not overweight.
What is hard for me is when my parents bring something unhealthy home and I give in. I do good for 16 hours and fast food is here. In all I just want to be healthier and give my body the proper nourishment that it lacks. I am starting this in order to become healthier though weight loss and just an overall healthier diet. I would like to start juicing. I am a student,so I hope I can budget this. Thanks for reading folks.
