I am trying to sprout garbanzos to make Alissa's hummus, and am so new at this. I have small sprouts coming out of the ends of the beans now, how big do the sprouts have to be before I can make my hummus? Is this a silly question?

Soft enough to chew the bean w/out trouble.
I don't bother with beans anymore. I've found humus made with zuchinni is much easier and palatable.

The longer you wait to sprout the more grassy they will taste. I use mine right after I see a sprout. I'm kind of with Revvell on this one. I find myself not using too much in the raw bean category. Blah...I can't really stand the taste either.
