I am happy to find this forum as I am relatively new to raw food. I have had a slow transition to raw and it has worked really well. I have been a vegetarian for 25 years or so. The next step felt like the next obvious one for me, from a feeling place inside. Then this April I decided to cut out all sugar and all white flour. That was easy. I replaced the sugar with some stevia and agave in my tea, and used a little maple syrup here and there. No more sugar or the things that go with sugar, which are processed junk. At the same time I was buying more whole wheat items to replace things like bread and noodles that I used to eat. I discovered whole wheat isn't always whole wheat when you look at the ingredients. Whole wheat and no sugar is also hard to find. Sugar and derivatives are ubiquitous in processed foods. I didn't really crave the sugar as the substitutes worked for me. I also would make wheat stuff for my family, and sometimes a white option for them too. Not hard. I started adding more and more raw food. First it was hard to have one meal a day be raw. Then I started making muesli (mostly raw), then living muesli by growing and adding sprouting wheat and barley. It is delicious, this breakfast I have had every day since I started making it with fruit, wheat and rye flakes, barley flakes, rolled oats, sprouted wheat, almond slices, raisins, carob chips, juice, rice milk, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. I notice how vibrant I feel after this breakfast, especially with sprouts. I notice that I can stay up later and need a couple hours less sleep each night. I used to go to bed much earlier. Because adding more raw food gave me more energy, I have done that and am probably 80 percent raw now. I have learned to make raw food at the same time as cooked food for my family.
I am a lightworker interested in the evolution of consciousness. I don't care about weight loss, or identify as being the body my soul is wearing. It seems that I found raw food diet because it is cleaner and lighter. It helps me feel freer. I want food to be easy and something I enjoy, not ever struggle or goal to achieve. Becoming raw just kind of happened.
I am looking forward to learning about raw food, how you eat and what you make as well as connecting with you.
Thank you and many blessings,
Shannon
