I can't find my little pee paper for ph levels but i just realized that what i am always looking for in large quantity is acids

oranges, strawberries, tomatoes etc etc

is that weird or does someone have an idea

Two of my main 'cravings' (I call them directings as they are different to cravings) is for greens, and for acid fruits like citrus, especially oranges.

I've got no problem with this, I see it as part of intuitive eating. If my body wants me to sit down and eat ten oranges, I'll sit down and eat ten oranges. No worry about whether they are acidic or not.

I too have 'pee paper' lol, and my readings are usually 7+, even in the morning, so I must be doing something right!

Just eat the stuff!

i wasn't worried just curious and now that i am reading more it makes total sense!

i have a history of fungus/bacteria issues in my gut.....they can't live in an acid environment.

cool

Trust me, the further you go down the raw rabbit hole, the more amazed and astounded you'll be at your body's 'intelligence'.

I've had cravings for things like seaweed, not knowing why this would be, only to find out that I was at the 100% stage that apparently heavy metals start to detox from your body and found out seaweeds are great for helping the body to rid itself of these!

Nowadays, if my body directs me toward it, I'll eat it. No questions.

I ate nothing but fruit for 1mnth then after my body wanted something different I saw that my skin cleared up on the back of my legs where bumps used to be. My body was wanting simple food like fruits to cleanse. The body IS intelligent!!!

Too true. We just have to listen.

Indeed, one of the major revelations Ive had from going raw is that I eat what my body needs when it needs it.

So gone are the traditional 3 meals a day, Im sort of just snacking on fruit/veg/nuts throughout the day. A green smoothy is my 'main' meal.

When you say fungus/bacteria issues, do you mean candida? Have you ever done a candida protocol? I just have to ask, because I'm in nutrition school right now and we talk a lot about candida. The protocol is nasty - no sugar for months, including fruit sugar! I really don't know how I feel about candida protocols... if I could only eat vegetables and no fruit for 3 months, I think I'd go a little batty...

Fruit is Nature's Perfect Food. We should eat plenty of it, especially papaya, which is good for digestion, and if you swallow the seeds whole they'll draw out icky yucky parasites.

I've dealt with candida. IMO....an all fruit diet is what has helped keep it away. Fruit is very cleansing. I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on t.v., but this is what has worked for me.

yeah in the last few years i have really come to agree with

"it's the fats not the fruit"

i can do all the fruit i want....if i start combining fats and starch or eating too much fat...it's bad news

Acid in your hand does NOT equal acid in your body. Lemons are acidic, but in the body, they are alkalinizing. True for many others.

Study PRAL, Potential Renal Acid Load. It's a more reliable test of food's impact on the body than the old ash tests were.

Sounds to me like your body knows what it's doing *****wink*****
