Hi there Im new to the forum, lots of useful info here :)
whats the deal with Lentils? can I eat a handful of them raw like I do sunflower seeds? I need to add some grains/pulses to my RAW repetoir.
You wouldn't eat lentils raw, but they are great sprouted and topped over a salad.

Could you put them in a smoothy raw?
what do you mean by 'sprouted' ?
By the fact that they need to be cooked to be eaten, shouldnt that negate them from the Raw diet completely? Bit of a clouded issue for me.

They're only indegestible if they haven't been sprouted.
Sprouted lentils are fie to eat. :)
Sprouted means they have been partically grown, so that the tiny tip of the plant is starting to poke out. You can find sprouted lentils in the fresh food section of your local wholefods and sometimes supermarkets. Or you can sprout your own (much cheaper).

you'll be shocked at how easy it is to sprout lentils--I was. In fact, I sprouted too many too fast. You don't need much, which is great because they are good for you and economical :D. Just soak them over night, drain the water, and keep rinsing them periodically. They'll start sprouting in no time... I put them in the blender with water and sunflower seeds and some spices...a good hearty dip.

No you wouldn't put them in a smoothie.
Sprouting means that you would soak them for several hours (or overnight). Then the next day you would drain off the water, and add fresh water, and drain again (so the lentils would be wet, but no water remaining in the container). You would do this 2-3 times a day for 1-3 days outside the refrigerator. That is sprouting. Look it up online if this doesn't make sense.
