I got some Royal Jelly from the local bee keeper. ( about the size of a small brick... a liter. ) I consumed 1 tsp per day. I gained 10 pounds for no apparent reason. I kept the weight on for the months I was consuming the RJ. Oddly, my weight tapered back to normal afterwards. I really don't know why. Maybe its bc the RJ stimulated my appetite. I had tons of energy and I could get a lot done in a day: there is no doubt it was an effective tonic. I don't need a tonic so I don't bother with it anymore: I prefer a more mellow pace ha ha. I do take bee pollen on and off which is much less radical.

That is interesting, Rick. I never understood what Royal Jelly was until I went to a lecture by a local beekeeper. It is the only food the Queen ever eats, from larvae to death. That is what makes the Queen so much bigger than the other bees.
Local bee products are the best way to go. Trust your source. I was told by this same beekeeper that most of the Royal Jelly on the market comes from China, and they treat the bees terribly and feed them only sugar water. Doubt you can get top notch Royal Jelly under those circumstances.
I use a local honey with Royal Jelly and pollen in it when I feel a cold sore coming on. Put a dab right on the spot. If I catch it early enough, it knocks it out before it gets started. Powerful medicine.

Really interesting feedback Rick! I've never heard that but I advise people all the time to use Royal Jelly. I'm a beekeeper so I guess I'm a little partial to the benefits of honey and other bee products but I'm glad to hear about some "negative" effects of bee products as well since I want to be aware of everything!
I'm going to follow up with some of the people I know who are taking the Royal Jelly and let the board know if they have had any similar issues.

Tim,
I'm not sure the extra 10 pounds I gained was "negative". My appetite might have been a consequence of the added activity that the RJ brought on, or, it could have been that the RJ stimulated my appetite. I'm not prepared to say it was "bad" weight either. It did coincide with the RJ. I took a level to heaping teaspoon a day. I took a heaping tsp on days when I had a lot planned.

thankx beekeeperTim...I would love to hear testimonials on this. I am making a list of the bee products benefits and would LOVE to have anything you want to add.
