Over the past few days I have had to begrudgingly accept the fact that I need to deal with my Candida overgrowth. I have been researching this issue ALL DAY!
I've been on and off the raw diet for years, never able to stay on it very long. Lately, I've kind of decided to leave it behind and go for a completely no-processed foods diet totally organic etc. lifestyle. I've been on it for a week and my Candida is flairing up like a wild animal.
Anyway, I researched the Candida diet and struggled back and forth between the typical Candida diet (Colon cleanse, sugar avoidance, probiotics.....) and the 80-10-10 diet. At first I didn't want to do 80-10-10 because I didn't want to try to go raw again, but I'm pretty sure now, after much research, it's the right thing to do.
I was hoping some of you could share your experiences with the Candida diet and 80-10-10. I'm not interested in going back to an unlimited raw diet just because I've been doing that for years and never experienced full healing, getting discouraged over and over. I'm thinking this will actually do the job more completely for me.
Please....HELP!:(

Have you tried www.30bananasaday.com?
There's bound to be lots of people who've had experience with candida and the 811 diet.

I don't follow the 811 year round.. I just kinda go for several days eating bananas and spinach. The rest of the time, in addition, I sprout and take bee pollen, raw honey and drink herb/spice teas. In addition, I have tried some of the recipes from this site and they are awesome! However, I believe that reducing overall fat intake will improve one's health. Candida included. I think reducing your fat-from-calories intake is a good move no matter what path you choose. ( Apparently it should not be less than 10 % tho. You get a feel for it once you have done the math for a few days. )

an option to better ease into 811 without more candida flare-up would be to have no overt fats (nuts, seeds, avo, and oils) for a few days/weeks or longer if you'd like. The reason is because if you've had a high fat diet (over 10-15% avg/week or so), the fat is still in your bloodstream for at least another day and I think you already know that it then causes blood sugar issues which your candida colony tries to stabilize. Going without overts would also help to bring down your fat ratio for the year.
Having just fruit (20+ pieces a day) and greens (.5-2 pounds a day) will net you a ratio of about 90-5-5 and probably help you adjust quicker. If the amount of greens seems like a lot, cut out all salt/seaweed and then see how much you want greens - your desire should definitely increase.
A lot of people recommend banana island as well. You can search around 30BaD for more info if it intrigues you.

Myself...I would highly recommend avoiding all that fruit sugar. Sugar is sugar is sugar and candida feeds on sugar.

Hey Rick, I think you are probably on my level as I do not follow a ridged raw diet most of the time either. I'm just getting started as a matter of fact.
I wanted to ask what benefits if any you are seeing from consuming the bee pollen and raw honey. I'm a beekeeper and I love getting positive feedback from bee product users because I believe passionately in their power to bring health to the user.

Tim,
First, I am suspicious of heated honey.. even in old time remedies.
I was turned on to royal jelly by a molecular medecine researcher. He has been taking royal jelly for many years. I personally have only had a total of maybe a little over a year of Royal Jelly consumption.
The bee keeper I obtain it from gets visits from people with family members who have cancer. I did not discuss this further, instead I presumed its because the RJ has many health improving factors in it.
I get an abundance of energy from raw honey and bee pollen. One product that I have grown to appreciate is "Bee Pollen in Raw Honey" . In addition, I regularly buy bee pollen from 2 or 3 beekeepers in rural areas known to be relatively pollution and pesticide free.
I recommend bee products because I find people that take them become more active and have a better outlook. Bee products seem to increase mental and physical resistance.
