View Full Version : How much teflex do I need?
I just ordered a 5-tray Excalibur dehydrator, and it comes with 2 teflex sheets. I'm thinking about ordering some more, but I'm not sure how much they will be used as I have zero dehydrating experience. For those of you who make dehydrator treats often, do you ever fill up your whole dehydrator with things that require teflex sheets? And on that note, what exactly does require teflex? I know that parchment is an alternative, but I prefer the reusable sheets. Any advice is appreciated.

I find that I need a teflex sheet for every tray I have. I make a lot of crackers and chips. I'd go ahead and order more, if I were you, but it depends on what you'll be making.

I have 9 teflex sheets, and when I use them, I use all of them.
I make tons of fruit leathers, and sun dried tomatoes, and crackers, and burgers, so I am always using them.
So, I would buy one for each tray you have.
Congratulations on your new toy. Isn't raw fun?? makeing all kinds of new and fun things.
Thank you! Now that I think about it, it would be kind of sad to go to all the trouble of making crackers or something and only getting 2 trays out of it. I'm so glad I asked. :)
