So I started high raw about three weeks ago. I went through a detox but I was still eating eggs, brown rice and beans. I'd say about 5 days ago I decided to go 100% raw....I feel horrible. Dizzy, tired...cranky. Am I missing something in my diet or is this another detox??
I've been eating green smoothies, lots of leafy greens, sprouts, veggies, fruit, nutty concoctions and desserts...I feel like its pretty balanced....but I feel awful...I was just starting to feel awesome, too :(

I won't be overly helpful as I'm new to this myself. But I just came across this post, do you think it may be simaler with you?

(also, if that's the case, I would aim for WELL over 1200. 1200 is the min. that your body can function on, that doesn't include any sort of activity).

Give it some time. Three weeks isn't much really. Depending on how you've lived before you might be detoxing for a long time. You'll probably feel a lot better over all in a few weeks though.

from what I have gleaned thus far:
1) you should eat as much of the raw food as you want. don't count anything. Just eat when you are hungry. plain and simple. You may want to be cautious about eating high sugar fruits, but most people say that even that is fine. You wil eat a lot, but remember 6 lbs of raw greens isn't the same as eating 6lbs of SAD fare. I personally eat a TON of food and I still have lost a total of 25lbs in just about 4 weeks. :)
2) If you are still eating some cooked food, it seems your detox may be extended. Supposedly the cooked food interupts the detoxing process therefore you body cycles through again after you reintroduce cooked food. A lot of the programs I have seen usually have a 2 week to 30 day 100% raw or detox fasting program to completley detoxify you. not that you have to do that, some people stay perfectly happy at a 70% rawness (is that even a word?).
As for your symptoms, you describe what I went through during week two. My wife would just pat me on the head, give me a banana, and send me to bed. :)

Maintime--you are too cute. lol.
pureMama--stay with it. Are you drinking enough water?
It probably is detox. I would stick with it. Eat some raw foods you really enjoy to help you through.

you will always have periods of detox, as there are many toxins to detox. including air toxins..etc
and yes, your symptoms sound like detox :D

I think this is the problem. I've been having a hard time remembering to drink water. I was drinking almost a half gallon a day, now its like a glass or two. Could this be giving me those symptoms too?
I'll try to get more water today.

Detox takes more than a few days, or weeks. There are different levels to the detox process. I've been 100% raw vegan for over 7 months and I still have detoxes. ;)

100% YES to lemon water. I LIVE off lemon water. geez, that stuff is WAY better than any SAD lemonaid concoction (sp?).
Weird thing... I've been 100% RAW for over a month now... high raw before that, and I'm currently water fasting.... and I have not experienced really ANY detox at all.
I was waitin for the bad skin and tiredness, and all that, but all i got was bad breath and an murky tongue coating.
Now even that is gone.
so.... I'm hoping your kind of detox won't hit me by surprise some day.
ANYWAY back to you.
I imagine you're totally experiencing a quite common case of detox...
obviously, drink more water... that and greens and citrus will probably speed up the detox... your nutty and complex meals will slow it down. ..
just don't give up... you;ll get through it and feel 3 gazillion times better later.

yeah I've been breaking out too :(
Okay, so I did better on the water today and I feel much better. I've got to make that a priority.
If I slow down on the nutty stuff I feel like I"ll starve...LOL...I try. hehe ;)
What is some good detox food to help me get through this, someone mentioned greens and citrus? Anything else?

Sounds like detox to me too - and yes you will go through more detoxification as you continue eating raw. As far as the water - I love water and I probably use to drink close to a gallon a day. Now that I am drinking smoothies and juices I couldn't possibly drink as much water as I use to because I am not thirsty. I would say just drink it when you are thirsty...don't force it.
