View Full Version : Which juice would help me?

My gastroparesis and gastritis is really flaring up right now, and I think I need to give my digestion a break the next couple of days.

I was wanting to see which juice would be the best for my tummy.
Right now it is burning really bad, very bloated, tender to touch, and my bowels are not moving.

I was thinking carrot, or apple??

I'm just getting very frustrated at my tummy :(

I want to eat raw, but it seems like I don't have much to choose from. My tummy seems to be getting worse, and in fact the doctor is getting very concerned.

I have had to cut out almost all the veggies, and cannot handle spices.

I like fruit and green smoothies, but I need more. I like salty, and I like savory.
I have tried doing green smoothies, and fruit, and then adding in Quinoa, or a baked sweet potato with a salad. But it seems like when I add in a cooked food my cravings go crazy, and I want more and more of the cooked food. I could easily eat 4 cups of Quinoa at one sitting.

But what else can I eat besides fruit, smoothies, and juices?

I would love if someone could help me make a "list" of foods that are easy to digest.

I have done the juice fast 7 days, and it does help a lot, but once I go off the fast I go back to the tummy pain. I just can't live off juice alone (like some of you on here) :p
Thanks for all your help and advice.
Cathy

Hi - I have some similar issues to yours. Bananas are really easy to digest. Apples are good for "getting stuff moving" but chew them really well so your tummy doesn't have to do too much work. Can you make a nut or coconut mylk yogurt? The probiotics would be probably helpful. Cabbage juice is great for the stomach - it heals ulcers better than all those proton pump inhibitors and stuff. I think it's because it has glutamine in it which heals the vilii in the stomach. You could try a juice with: celery, ginger, mint leaves, blueberries, apple and a little aloe vera juice. All of these items (except the blueberries) are known tummy settlers. Good luck!

d and c your saying you need more than fruit and green smoothies ,
but im saying no you dont :D

ive got gut probs too , and got the salt / savory tooth

yes i cave to it , but ive gone months without it and technically
or nutritionally we dont need it . we just crave it because of messed up taste buds like smokers crave cigs

3 cheers for fruit and greens :D
