View Full Version : We were on the news ~
I was contacted last week when a local newscaster saw my ad on Craig's List for this weekend's Raw Foods Group potluck. He wanted to come to our home and interview us and film a raw food demo.
It was aired last night (http://www.kndu.com/Global/story.asp?S=12494231)and our FaceBook page for our Raw Food Group (linked at the bottom of above article) has gone from 23 members to 39 last night. I'm so excited about more people joining up!! I've been trying to hard to get a Raw Foods group up and going and I think this is going to make all the difference!
One little town at a time... *Ü*
(I demo-ed zucchini pasta, marinara sauce and donut holes.)

That was so fun to watch!!
I want to come over to your house to eat!!
Nice to see you "in real life":)
WOW! Thank you ALL so much for your kind words! I was really shy about posting it here, but I stepped outside my zone a bit and posted.
With your warm reception I'm glad I did. Thank you all - that means so much to me. :D
Our Facebook Group has now reached 41. Now - if we can get some of those to attend our potluck, we'll call it good.
My husband (bless his heart) stood in at the very last minute as my co-organizer of our group was slated to be at our home and be interviewed too, but she called from the E.R. with a wicked sinus infection. I asked him to step in and he said, "Well, I'd better hop in the shower then!" *Ü*

GO DEB!
Your town will be raw central in no time!
Wouldn't that be too much fun if we could all get together for a big potluck!!
And Renee - yes, it was fun! I just kept praying that I wouldn't freeze up or be nervous and my prayers were answered :)
Revdrcyn ~ The newsman commented on all the bananas too, we laughed and told him most of them would be frozen for smoothies. I agree, Stu's the man! We've been married for 37 years this July ~ ~ He's a keeper.
Thank you JennaHoneyBear, snoops (I sure didn't want to talk much - I told him that too, I said I'll just do the food prep please), Susan123, Aleesha (c'mon over for dinner anytime my neighbor to the north), Moretta, Ms_Catherine, Basenjimamma (we're trying to spread the word!), Evie, IamLoved, terry brown (c'mon over with Aleesha!) and klomasius ~ we want our potluck meetup group's number to grow to about 40+.
This may do it. Thanks everyone ~ you've really touched me with your kind replies!

I agree - Great job!! It was nice to see someone else making raw foods for a change...;) (besides myself...lol) :p
You were both wonderful!
That pasta looked divine - what spice were you putting on it?
Thank you michigan roman ~ I was trying to think of something to demo that's actually "fun" - and making zucchini pasta with that gadget is a hoot..
Hi monkapotapus ~ Thanks for the kind words and the spice I was putting on the pasta is dried Italian spices. The zucchini is pretty bland on its own and I like to put a little olive oil, salt and the Italian spices on it to marinade. *Ü*

It just so happened that I had packed zucchini pasta with marinara sauce for my dinner last night. My coworkers are always interested in what I've brought, so I told them about the spiralizer, etc. Then I showed them your interview! Now everyone wants a spiralizer, they think zucchini pasta is the coolest thing they've ever heard of!

Hi Ms_Catherine ~ How fun is that!! That's why I picked using the spiralizer for the demo - because it's SO FUN - ha! I remember when I did an impromptu demo at my home a few months back with our first raw foods meetup group. Everyone just laughed. It's so neat.
Good for you spreading the word! And QVC's price (http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.K7702.desc.Fuller-Kitchen-Solutions-Manual-Vegetable-Curler-Slicer)of $18.48 on the spiralizer is jaw droppin' good! Back to add - you can watch a video demo on the site above - just click the video tab above the picture of the spiralizer.
