Because of a dumb doctor I started having white coat hypertension over 10 years ago. I bought an Omron bp machine and started taking it at home. I initially got high readings because I was scared (what am I scared of? Going on meds because everything I read about them is contrary to good health). Then I started getting decent readings and stopped worrying about it. 2 months ago I was hospitalized due to another dumb doctor error with my thyroid medication and my heart went into severe fibrillation and I almost died. Of course my bp shot up too. When I got home from the hospital I started taking my bp only to find it was still high so started doing more celery/beet in my juices/bp supplements like CoQ10/garlic/natto/magnesium etc. I am mostly raw btw although sometimes I do eat a cooked evening meal its healthy and vegetarian. I am right weight/walk every day with no other health risks (verified at my hospital visit) in fact several nurses said they thought I was 20 years younger when they looked at my chart:D I took my bp yesterday but I was definitely over anxious, heart pounding even though I tried to relax I couldn't and the systolic was high (diastolic good). I am pretty sure its high when I take it because of this but don't know how to overcome the fear:( Thanks for any input.

I have a similar story with my bp.......it is within "normal" to low reading most of the time at home( with the Omron)...when you take it, sit quietly for a few minutes, feet flat on the floor, arm supported......breath deeply and exhale fully...maybe 5 times.......stay very still when you take the reading. I do all of these and also take Mukta Vati.....wishing you the best.

Thanks so much for responding. Have heard of Mukta Vati, did it give you the nasal congestion problem people seem to get with it? Or any other side effects like depression (I know it has Rauwolifia in it and it can cause depression). Thanks again and please let me know safe place to order it from.

Hi~
Maybe a little congestion at first but that went away, no depression that I know of. I will find the site I ordered from and send you the link~
