I know that a lot of people have fallen off more than once, but it's still with a bit of shame that I'm here once more, re-introducing myself, and heavier than ever.
I was introduced to raw "way back" in 2006. I was having severe chronic pain and was rundown and horribly unhappy and sick. After being 100% raw for only a month, my pain was gone. I continued on that journey for 6 months total, and had never been so happy and healthy.
I was then diagnosed with a DVT (deep vein thrombosis) which immediately halted my intake of greens due to the medication I was on. For one year I dealt with the repercussions of a cooked diet and limited exercise, plus being poisoned with the medication. After my clot dissolved, I started raw again.
I lose track of the time, but I started back to school, lost my grandmother, and had a number of family disturbances. My boyfriend moved in with me, and we experienced a rough time for a couple of years.
Thanks to my first round of being raw, I had released a lot of weight and was down to 139 pounds. However, My weight bounced around after I returned to cooked foods, and I come back to you now at almost 180 pounds.
Not only am I heavier than ever, but I'm not feeling well at all. I'm currently in nursing school full time and have a difficult time preaching wellness to my patients when I'm so obviously in need of help myself. I've recently begun experiencing acid reflux, and am not able to fit into any of my clothes. My skin looks horrible, I look pregnant, and my dream of being a beautiful, healthy girlfriend is fading away.
I'm 35 years old. I'm still young, but I feel old.
My finals end tomorrow for this semester. I plan to bring Raw back into my life fully. If my boyfriend chooses to join me on this leg of my journey, then I'll be over the moon with joy. If not, he understands that I need to do this for my health. It's affecting my mental state and our relationship.
I recognize a lot of names ... and I hope to renew my relationship with this board, and to keep that relationship for quite some time. You all have been so wonderful in the past, and I know that your energy will continue to inspire and assist me as I renew my vow to myself to improve and maintain my health.
