Hi y'all... I've been very excited about the potential that a raw food diet can have on my life! I am 30 years old and would generally say that my diet has been a little more on the healthy side than the average American's, but I know I could definitely improve in some areas... I've been learning more and more about the vegan lifestyle and diet and actually I feel somewhat unintelligent that I have not shifted my diet more to raw foods already. It seems to make so much sense.
I don't know if I'm quite up for a full-blown 30 day challenge yet... I'm starting small... baby steps right? Right now I am experimenting with just raw foods and I am on Day 3 of eating just raw organic fruits, vegetables and natural juices. I've also been trying a whole food powder - Emerald Balance mixed into some of my juices. It might be too early to draw conclusions, but I have been feeling great and will be trying to keep this going as long as I think there will be some future benefit. My energy is up significantly (my estimate is 20-30%) during the day and I have more "sustained energy" than I can remember having in years. No caffeine highs, no jitters, and just an overall "sense of wellness." It's been a great feeling and oddly enough I've caught myself being less moody and much more positive in my attitude -- others have even noticed.
I have so many questions that I hope to learn from reading on this website and interacting in this community. Why juicing vs. just eating it raw? Isn't the difference just the fiber and if so what's wrong with fiber?
Well, I'm just getting started, so please if you have any words of encouragement do share!! :)
