Hi - I want to try a juice fast starting tomorrow. Mostly, I want to do it to cleanse my system and to potentially heal my IBS which I think is turning into colitis. Has anyone had help from these issues with juice fasting? Any specific recommendations about what to juice? Also, my juicer won't arrive probably until Tuesday, so I will need to make do with stuff available at the store for a few days. I want to start with maybe a few days since I've never done this before, then take a break and then maybe try again in a month. Thanks!

Well, I lasted 24 hours!!!! I think I could have lasted longer, but since my juicer hasn't arrived yet, it was already way too expensive to do without my own juicer. I could do water and cool tea at home, but I couldn't just do water and tea because I tend to have low blood sugar and I knew I wouldn't be able to maintain on that and still do my mom duties. So I had to supplement with fresh juice from the juice bar at Whole Foods (the only place in my town where you can get fresh juice). I only got two to last me through the day, but that was $12!!! Anyway, my juicer should be here next week so maybe I can try again. Any suggestions on things to juice that are especially cleansing? I heard beet is good for the liver; ginger for the stomach; greens for the blood. Any more tips? Thanks - I'm proud that my first fast was so successful!!
