Wow so I made it through 3 days and I'm feeling a little less on edge... Had some major - um - "eliminating" today which was nice. Anyone have suggestions on what I can expect moving forward? I'm sure everyone's different but I'd love to know your own personal experiences! Maybe I"ll go back and look at old threads from the first few days of the challenge.

For breakfast I just had a smoothie of strawberries, raw cacao, hemp milk, and a bit of Stevia. The hemp milk wasn't raw, but I mixed it with water. I'm not forcing myself to be 100%raw this first week, just right around 90-95% so that was the only un-raw stuff I'll consume today.

I don't want to jinx myself, but this is the strongest go that I've had in the raw challenge thus far. I'm really taking things one meal at a time and trying to stay very mindful and conscious of exactly why I'm doing this.

Having said that, it isn't exactly easy and I imagine that my social life will suffer a bit, but I think once I master it it will be well worth it in the end. Thanks everyone =)

OH! And can anyone put a recipe for these green & berry smoothies they keep mentioning? I mean is it as simple as kale and strawberries in a blender? Thank you!

They are pretty simple if you have a high speed blender. Just stick as much greens as you can, some water and fruit. A lot of people will add bananas. I normally put in bananas, apples and frozen strawberries.

Depending on your general overall health and the foods you are eating you can expect some detox reaction. You can also expect some mental hurdles but, for me, after about 3 weeks at 100% those were mostly gone.

I actually caved yesterday. I have not been feeling well over the last couple of weeks and have had some very specific cravings over the last 3 days. I was having muscle weakness and a lot of vertigo yesterday and thought my son was probably going to end up in the ER for possible appendicitis so I finally gave in because I didn't know if whatever it was would make those other symptoms go away. Well, he didn't end up in the ER but, within 2 hours my vertigo was much better. I think I must have been needing something specific that I was missing. I feel bad about it anyway after being 100% for over 50 days and having all cravings go away until 3 days ago. I am meeting with a nutritionist next Tuesday so hopefully we will be able to figure it out.

Between now and then I am going to try to increase my green smoothies and reduce the sugar if I can.

LaVitaLauren..yes, just like Kgarett said, some type of greens, spinach, kale, collard, even romaine lettuce..fruit, like berries (I use frozen wild blueberries, make sure it has no sugar added) and banana..whirl it for a while and yum..
Key is I think, if you don't have a high powered blender, to take the center off the leaves, meaning only use the soft leafy parts, not the core and you will have a smoother smoothie..

Kgarett, I felt woosie yesterday too, I worked out really hard for teh first time since I started this some 80 days ago, so I think my body was shocked..feel better today though, hungry..so I just ate again.

B-green smoothie- today it was spinach, banana and pineapple..and I had two more bananas on the side...
S-nuts, handful of'em.
L-Chopped green salad left overs form yesterday..
S-?
D-my favorite of all times...Kale salad from LoLF's..wow, if you haven't tried it, please do..you will be amazed..at least I was.

Hey All,

I wouldn't say morning sickness has kicked in but definitely morning queasiness.

I had a banana for breakfast and then some strawberries. Drinking a green smoothie now that is pretty tart - odd since it's banana, mango, apple, and spinach.

I really can't stomach the thought of any of the complex dishes I was making in the first month. I guess that makes it simpler. I would love something bland and doughy but going to do my best to stay raw. I think this is day 49 for me.
