hi,

i was wondering if anyone here has been able to overcome candida using the raw food diet? i've battled it for years, got sicker and sicker, with chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues, etc....Most candida diets tell you to eat a lot of animal protein - eggs, beef, chicken.....and tell you that if you have immune system issues, you will not heal unless you eat meat.....my instincts (after much reading) tell me that the raw food diet is the healthiest diet/life habit for permanent health and well being. But since I can't eat fruit for months, what do i eat? salad for breakfast? Anyway, I just really need some help and guidance, and hope that maybe someone who has experience in these issues eating raw can help! thanks! judy:)

By lowering your fat intake you may gain some ground. For an explanation as to why lower fat intake will help you with candida issues, you could look into Dr Doug Graham's interviews. By lowering my calories from fat I was able to reverse my heart disease. This was confirmed by standard medical means. At the time, Dean Ornish MD was one of the few who advocated a low-fat plant based diet to reverse disease. Today there are several advocates of plant based foods to reverse diseases.
I adopted the dietary guidelines in Dr Gabriel Cousens' Rainbow Green diet and I have never looked back. Raw, preferably live, foods, all plant based. In addition, I restrict my calories from fat to a level that apparently will keep disease at bay.
I think most of us tweak and adjust a lot at first. Later it becomes fine tuning and having fun.
