Does anyone know of a 100% raw substitute for nama shoyu? Sometimes you just want that soy sauce flavor.
Thanks in advance!

The Coconut Secret aminos tasted like a combo of nama shoyu and Bragg's amino. Very subtle and salty. I bought the nectar and vinegar, passed on the aminos for now. I might get some later.
I use organic wheat-free tamari. Not raw, but since I use it so seldom, it doesn't really matter to me. I was told by someone who follows Gabriel Cousens that nama-shoyu is not processed like it used to be, and that wheat-free tamari is a better option.

Went to a nearby Whole Foods, they only had the vinegar and the aminos. Tried the vinegar in an avocado and it was fantastic! Looking forward to playing with the aminos. Really want the nectar as well since I don't "do" agave and so many of the fancy schmancy desserts call for it.
From RK's description, this vinegar ought to pair well with the aminos in marinades and sauces. I can also see using just a hint of it in desserts, especially fruit based desserts.

I tried the vinegar on a salad tonight. Very nice flavor. Not as tart as ACV. A lady I met at the store when we were sampling these items said she sprinkles the aminos directly on lettuce as a dressing.

Coconut Aminos is indeed delicious, and raw according to the creators of it. They seem trustable.
Also Ohsawa's Nama Shoyu is not "tr00ly yreaw" but it is a living breathing food and I have no problem with using it. Infact I love it, and it loves me. We're a happy family.

Coconut aminos is NOT a good substitute for nama shoyu or tamari. I made one of my favorite recipes today, marinated portabello mushroom. I subbed 1 Tablespoon coconut aminos for the usual 1 Tablespoon nama shoyu. Not even close. TO SWEET!
I will use the aminos again, but only in recipes where a little sweetness is called for, like salad dressing or teriyaki sauce.

Yes, it is very sweet! I discovered this today while using the aminos for a vegetable dish. i did 2tb of aminos and 1tb of agave, and it was just SO sweet!
