Am I allowed to start this thread even though this is my first day participating? I want to join the challenge... I plan to start tomorrow. This will be my third attempt (after two failed but not totally pathetic attempts).
My first time was good ~ lasted roughly two weeks and I felt pretty wonderful... So I'm planning to eat very clean today (a bit of cooked, just because it's mothers day and I have to appease mom) and then start full throttle tomorrow.
I'm really excited and plan to test this out for the month of May, and then beyond if I find that it works for me. I found in my first attempts that being raw was in fact easier than eating cooked. And my kitchen stayed a lot cleaner too! I'm not really sure why I fell off track ~~ I suppose my biggest challenges are my desire to binge eat and the social pressures that I face. I've had binge eating issues for years now, and I hope that being raw might alleviate those a bit, by alleviating my anxiety and mental chatter. Additionally, I'm 26 and work as an event planner and have to discuss food with people all day... But I don't want my job to get in the way of my personal success, freedom, or optimal performance in life...
I live two hours from my family for my job, and when I'm visiting home its so hard to eat healthy or vegan let alone raw, so this will be challenging... But I'm going to do my best to avoid visiting home until I feel I have a great routine in place.
I've been part of this forum for a while now but haven't utilized it fully yet. I really hope to make some valuable raw connections that might escalate into e-mail relationships and etc... I really feel like I can't do this without a support system, and think that's partially why my past two attempts have failed.
Hope everyone's challenge is going well so far. I look forward to reading all of your stories for inspiration. Best of luck to all!! xoLauren
