Am I allowed to start this thread even though this is my first day participating? I want to join the challenge... I plan to start tomorrow. This will be my third attempt (after two failed but not totally pathetic attempts).

My first time was good ~ lasted roughly two weeks and I felt pretty wonderful... So I'm planning to eat very clean today (a bit of cooked, just because it's mothers day and I have to appease mom) and then start full throttle tomorrow.

I'm really excited and plan to test this out for the month of May, and then beyond if I find that it works for me. I found in my first attempts that being raw was in fact easier than eating cooked. And my kitchen stayed a lot cleaner too! I'm not really sure why I fell off track ~~ I suppose my biggest challenges are my desire to binge eat and the social pressures that I face. I've had binge eating issues for years now, and I hope that being raw might alleviate those a bit, by alleviating my anxiety and mental chatter. Additionally, I'm 26 and work as an event planner and have to discuss food with people all day... But I don't want my job to get in the way of my personal success, freedom, or optimal performance in life...

I live two hours from my family for my job, and when I'm visiting home its so hard to eat healthy or vegan let alone raw, so this will be challenging... But I'm going to do my best to avoid visiting home until I feel I have a great routine in place.

I've been part of this forum for a while now but haven't utilized it fully yet. I really hope to make some valuable raw connections that might escalate into e-mail relationships and etc... I really feel like I can't do this without a support system, and think that's partially why my past two attempts have failed.

Hope everyone's challenge is going well so far. I look forward to reading all of your stories for inspiration. Best of luck to all!! xoLauren

Last day of my fast. I feel good, but tortured my self all day yesterday, reading raw food recipes and looking at delicious raw food pictures. So now I actually feel hungry all the time, even though I normally don't when I fasting.
Well at least Im dreaming of raw food, and not all kind of crappy unhealthy food.
I will continue from tomorrow with a green smoothie fast for a fees days.

This page is really amazing. With beautiful pictures, yummii recipes and a lot of good information www.rawmazing.com

And good luck to both of you, to a fresh new start of Raw eating :)

Hey all, forgot to check in yesterday. Thanks for the mothers day wishes kgarrett :). Talked to my mom today and was dying to tell her she's gonna be a grandma but the husband really wants to wait till 3 mos. So, instead I'm ordering her a copy of alissa's book :)

So far so good staying raw on the pregnancy front. I hope when and if morning sickness kicks in that I don't become repulsed by anything healthy, which seems happens to some women in their first trimester. I get a little nauseous if I don't eat enough but otherwise feeling good. Only real desire to eat cooked is when I just haven't eaten enough... Speaking of which I'm gonna whip myself up some tomato soup. Just hit me that I'm starved!!

Didn't get a chance to check in last night but finished off my day with a lara bar for lunch and HUGE salad for dinner!

I've been feeling great lately and the cravings haven't been bad at all!

~Happy mother's day everyone!

Today was a grazing day, made salsa, cauliflower popcorn, tomatoes with basil and olives, and just munched through out the day.

Also had a piece of raw german chocolate cake, it was like a big slice of a yummy lara bar... couldn't finish the small slice it was very rich, but yummy!

~nite all

~this is what I do, there are a bunch of recipes floating around~

One head of cauliflower, broken into bite size pieces, place in a large baggie or bowl with lid
drizzle olive oil on it , sprinkle with a few spoonfuls of nutritional yeast, a pinch of sea salt, pinch of garlic powder, then SHAKE!!! until it's coated well, then eat!
