Hang in there, Rich. --Trite expression, but it's all I can offer. Are you in your early to mid 20's? You remind me of how I was at that age. Quite depressed and unknowing of what the heck was going on with me. All I can say is it won't last forever, but it will probably last longer than you'd like.

Smoothie: Kale, banana, pineapple, strawberry
Olives, bit of avocado
Smoothie; banana, pineapple, coconut flakes, coconut oil

46, but i'm aging well, if that's worth anything. i always think i'm on the precipice of staying raw, getting healthy mentally, physically, spiritually. i, of course, like i have for every day for 15 years, think that tomorrow is the day. snore i'm at a culmination point in my life where, of course, i would want to get raw and stay raw, snore. i've had this thought and made this statement at least 1,000 times. thanks for the note though, hope springs eternal, and i'm still a believer.:p:D:)

Rich, I feel for you, I feel I have an understanding of where you're coming from. I've often felt I was balancing precariously on the fine line between that perfect raw day and the ultimate binge-fest...never knowing quite which way the day would go...and then would that day turn into weeks, months, years?! I've recently turned a corner though, because I don't care which way it goes now...whichever way will be a way of learning so it's all groovy. Weirdly, since my shift in attitude, my raw days have been way winning out over the cooked and it's fabulous!!! I'm living more 'now' than I ever have. Today I've been dehydrating some raw breads, I've just finished dehydrating some marinated nuts, I'm going to try a couple of new things a week, because I want to, and it'll happen when I feel like it, not because I've got to or because I feel I should. Well, hope that makes sense, I really do go on once I get going...hope I haven't bored everyone to tears! LOL!

Anyhoo, today...

Brekkie - banana, mango, hemp oil, greens and coconut water smoothie
Lunch - marinated nuts...yum, they're lush!
Dinner – ½ head lettuce, an avocado and lemon and olive oil dressing
Snack – few bits raw chocolate

Hope everyone's having a great day...

xxx

Hey Rich,

It is tough at first. But you have to go Nike on it and just do it. You'll be happy you did. Commit for the 30 days come hell or high water and then at the end you'll feel like it's getting easier. Make sure you do the full 30 though - I almost cracked in the 4th week but since 30 days it really has been easier. Maybe hire a raw coach if you can?

Someone asked yesterday if my husband and I committed to 30 days raw in order to get pregnant - no, we didn't. It was really cause of my husband's allergies and high blood pressure that we wanted to try it. And both are much better!! The pregnancy is a nice bonus :)

Was super busy at work today but had a coconut after yoga and then brought an extra with me to the office that I made a cacao coconut smoothie with. Also had a huge bowl of blackberries and strawberries with a little agave cause they were tart. Green smoothie after that and then two sandwiches from One Lucky Duck for dinner, where we stopped on our way out of the city. Upstate now and gonna drink some tea by the fire and read a bit.

Hope everyone gets a good start to the weekend.

Today was really hard. Started with a green smoothie of spinach, banana and strawberries. Followed by mango and pineapple. Followed by onion bread with sprouted lentil pate and sliced tomato. Followed by avacado/salsa with carrots and asparagus as "dippers".

I worked a 12 hour shift at the hospital, the first 3 1/2 hours in a re-certification class, followed by 8 hours sitting with a challenging dementia pt (and this was supposed to be my day off, sigh....)

thanks gooberdog and katy. i hopefully can go nike on this and just get the 30 days. it's just so easy to not care, but i know what you're saying, if i just let time pass, and the 30 days isn't going to pass just by thinking it, i have to actually let 30 days pass by, then it would be easier. i'm going to plan on some overeaters anonymous meetings too for support. as i may need some people to just clap for me over my food program going well.
