Hello everyone, My name is Kelly everyone calls me Kels. I am a night owl(comes from working nights).

I am going raw! Have been thinking since the new year but don't know why I have not started. But now is the time, nothing is holding me back. I have no one to prepare food for except me. So no excuses.

I have been eating clean for almost 4 years. Went to clean eating because of so many stomach problem..no more dairy(lactose thing), no beef , really don't like eggs. Will eat limited amounts of chicken(for some reason the smell of raw chicken make me nauseated) and the only fish I like is Tilipia and tuna fish. So my menu has been limited. My coworkers talk about the so called weird food that I eat but always want to taste it(and ask for more).

I have slowly gained weight over the past year due to lack of exercise(I thought). The reason I say I thought because I started back exercising in January and have not lost a pound. I have been pushing it daily with weight gain not lost and its not muscle gain. Clean bill of health from the Dr. Can't figure out the problem. So I am back to what I put in my body not just to lose the 26lbs I gained but to feel better. I am sluggish and always hungry.

I am long winded but......Hello everyone!

Hi Kelly

Welcome! I am new to this too. I have had small time frames of eating raw, but didn't stay raw. I am cooking (not cooking ;) ) for myself now and not 4 other people so I think it will be easier. I wish you well on your journey!

Hi, I am Renee' Mohr. I am 42 and have 4 children. They are 19,16,16,and 7.
My husband and I have just started to go raw. Our son has aspergers syndrom
and has done great since going raw. We have only been following this diet
for a very short time and have noticed a huge difference. I do have one question. What can I use to substitute for nuts, my daughter has a nut allergy?

Hi Kels! Welcome to RFT!

Your 26 pounds will simply melt away and I bet you find some great muscle definition you aren't seeing now. Great job on exercising. That is my problem, I haven't been exercising.

Hi Renee! Welcome! How awesome to hear that raw has made such a difference for your son in such a short time. Are you looking to replace nuts as a form of protein or as an ingredient in a type of recipe? If you are looking for protein, sprouted quinoa, sesame, sunflower, and other seeds might be an answer for you. In some recipes you can replace nuts with sunflower and/or pumpkin seeds.

Welcome Kels. People think I eat "weird" food too. Makes me laugh to think that fruit and veg is "weird" food.
