Hi everyone, I'm new here, and new to the idea of going Raw. While I am overweight, I don't suffer from any health ailments. My family recently cut out hfcs, have slowly made the transition to organic, and I'd like to take the next step.
My main questions at this point are...
1. What should I have on hand, or stock up on?
2. What costs should I expect?

I have a friend who is willing to sell me her Excalibur Dehydrator, so once I get that, I should be on my way!

BTW, I love reading everyone's inspirational stories and seeing the transformation pictures..the pics of food are great too! It helps me realize that what I will be eating looks very yummy!

Welcome!

Your grocery bill may seem to go up at first, but I found mine tapered off eventually because I actually consume less food since Raw is more filling.

Shopping at Farmers' Markets helps a lot, and growing your own Greens and veggies if that is a possibility. One good-sized home-grown Zucchini can be used to create amazing meals!

The initial stocking-up on raw nuts and seeds can get a little pricey, but you can always start small.

You definitely want to have organic cold-pressed Olive Oil, some Vanilla Beans, a quality Salt, and Nama Shoyu or Bragg's on hand.

If you have a sweet tooth and plan to make desserts, you will need Raw Cacao powder, Dates, Coconut, Walnuts, and Pecans.

The best Grocery Guide I have found is in Alissa's book - LIVING ON LIVE FOOD. She has a wonderful 4-week plan with detailed lists for shopping.

So glad you joined RFT - keep us posted!

AS rev said your grocery bills will go up at first place as organic food prices are bit higher then regular food for example milk is about $3-$4 expensive then other one. vegs like a cornflower is for $1.99 but organic one will be like $4.00. But after using it you will feel the slight difference and that's what will make you happy.
