View Full Version : What percent greens do you use daily?
Lately, I've realized I haven't been eating enough greens. I stopped doing a smoothie in the evening for winter and just ate fruit and drank herbal tea instead but now I've realized that I had been decreasing my intake of greens a lot by doing that. Anyway, I was reading someones blog today and they described their daily diet and had 3 green smoothies and a salad and they looked like decent sized smoothies too! So, I'm just curious as to how much greens others eat?

Well, this time of year it's a LOT. Since there's so much incredible wild greens available for free out there, it would be a shame not to take advantage of it.
You need less of the wild greens though, so it's probably not that much in terms of weight. Perhaps half a pound to one pound depending on which kind of greens.

A ton. Right now I am juicing but greens go into that too. GS's are a big part of my diet. I do at least half and half on the greens and fruit. Dinner is usually a big green salad. I just don't feel right if I don't get my greens in.

I use 1 pound of greens as part of an 1800 calorie diet. If it was just spinach I would use less.

I don't have a certain amount of greens that I have every day. Some days are different. One day I might have a large handful of greens in my morning smoothie that usually consists of almond milk, cinnamon and banana with the greens. In the afternoon I have my green smoothie, today it is red kale, red grapes, cranberries, parsley and strawberries. So I guess its actually reddish color not green! ;) That's about a pint, which is about a half of full bunch of kale. I also have some sort of salad for lunch and dinner. I don't necessarily know how much that is but for me, its a lot.:D

As many greens as u can eat in a day in any way is awesome! Juicing or blending is easiest to get alot!
