Good Morning!!
I hope that today this will be my only time on this site! I am excited to be more productive during my day today. It will be difficult to stay away from surfing the web because I will need to do things one the internet and keep from randomly going to sites that are fun or have the news, etc. I'll let you know tomorrow morning how I did.
This is day 3 post fast so I imagine I will be making myself a green smoothy for the day. I will eat some apples of course. I have to go shopping so maybe I will buy some bananas. Maybe a handful of nuts. I feel like when I just started and all I wanted was simple. I even have a piece of raw cheesecake in my freezer and I don't want that.
I will be looking up some recipes today so I can start making some stuff in the dehydrator that will be helpful in for me and the rest of the family in the future.
Have a great raw day everyone!

Today I woke up early, and I feel SO good and energized. Amazing after only 3 days raw, I feel like a new person :)
Now I will go and do some exercise, for the first time in a loooong time
B: 2 bananas and green tea
L: A few strawberry's and a delicious green smoothie with parsley, mango, banana and coconut oil.
D: I made a salad with parsnip, Jerusalem artichoke, sundried tomatoes and parsley. Dressing was raw honey, mustard (not raw) and oil. I liked the dressing, but didn't like the texture of the parsnip after being marinated. The artichoke was nice and crispy. Ate very little, and made myself some raw chocolate ice-cream instead :) Delicious.

I missed the first couple days, I was out of town and away from technology, not a bad thing! Plus I was with a girlfriend who down right trashed some raw foods I had brought with me last year (that our family loves, nor was she forced to eat them)... kind of ticked me off, but it made me realize that I don't have her sad negativity.. it just made me want to be MORE raw!
So here I am for the 30 days, and hopefully the rest of my life, I can't seem to find the happy medium I was hoping for with being mostly raw and keeping a few things I love.... it's just not working, my body tells me that all the time, it's time to listen!
I've done 30 days before and felt great and lost 20lbs a year ago and since then I've gain that back plus 10  sooo.... enough is enough, my metabolism has stopped all together even with my daily hour of yoga so I know it's my few sad foods I keep around that are nooo good... I need to get my head out of mah butt! So I will join you all in the next 30 days!
~nothing much so far for me today, I got up 3:30 am with loads of energy.. go figure.. lol.. and I'm sporting a head cold so I'm keeping to mostly thai coconuts, juices and light veggies!
Plan to try the cheesy kale chips, will drag out dehydrator for that and maybe make up some raw fudge....

Hi everyone - great to see you here this morning.
I am a couple of days late but had a busy weekend - time with my grandson (we went mini-putting) and I had a party to attend, an anniversary too, so lots going on.
My food for the day will be lots and lots of pineapple and some bananas:D
Now I'm off for my walk.
Have a fine spring day my fellow rawbies.:)

Morning all,
I had a dream I had a half a baked potato with broccoli and cheese last night. It was a dinner out in a restaurant with other people but not my husband and for some reason I did it. Then I guiltily ordered two more!!
Well, I guess the good thing is I identified as raw in the dream. And that it was only a dream :D
Anyway, I was thinking it would be fun to have a monthly raw potluck here in Woodstock - I'm sure there are plenty in the city but I'm pretty busy during the week and I'd like to get to know some people up here so I started a group on meetup.com.
If anyone's in the area, the first one is on May 16th.
Good morning! I'm officially a marathoner :D The race was brutal, it was 80 degrees, I got heatstroke and miles 17-26.2 were basically a death march, but I still managed to finish in 4:17. I didn't meet my goal time BUT I'm proud that I was able to even finish the race at all! I was so sick all day yesterday, so I'm hoping today I start to feel better & I can eat again.
B: 2 bananas, but they were making me nauseous, so I had 4 "raw chunks of energy" that my mom brought me, kind of like bite-sized lara bars I guess
L: planning on a salad w/ romaine, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, avocado & vinegar...I'd been trying to just eat plain salads but I really don't care if I have some dressing on it today
S: apples? not sure
D: green smoothie w/ bananas, mango, kale & water. Fresh young coconut water.
Have a great day!

Danielle/Meow..wow, I am so proud of you..you go girl..you marathoner :):)
As for me..I am still here..
I have been since last week, when I went to a restaurant and ordered guacamole and it had some roasted jalapenos in it, had the worst troubles with my stomach, every day in the afternoon, bad stomach pains, stabbing, probably gas related..I don't get it, I am on my 77th day or so (lost count of my days)..but it is bothering me and making me blue..
So I am doing very simple things to see if I can sort things out..
B- green smoothie=lots of spinach, 2 celerysticks, 1 banana and almost a whole mango.
s-Apple
I will come back as my day progresses..have a swell day and enjoy spring...

Wow, congrats!!! Those last ten miles are brutal even without 80 degree weather. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Yes, Danielle, very cool! It's one more anecdote I can whip out in defense of raw. ..."I know of this girl who ran a marathon while raw..." ;)
I haven't been so raw the last few days, but I'm back on board today.
Smoothie: kale, banana, berries
Salad: mixed greens, raisins, avocado, walnuts, o/v
...Also made some Tomato Basil soup, per katy. j's recipe she recently shared. Wow--so easy!
...The 25-year-old blender I found at a church sale for $2 this weekend works better than my other one--really pulverizes those greens. ...Cool!
Enjoying smoothies so much more with this blender...about 60 oz. so far. Mmm.

Danielle, you RAWK!!! You are such a motivation! I hope you feel better today.
I'm starting out with a green smoothie. I'm going to make a huge fruit salad with strawberries, kiwi, mango, and pineapple, to snack on throughout the day. I made mock salmon pate to eat with raw veggies, and a piece of onion bread, for dinner.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
kgarret, good luck staying off the computer. I've been known to bring my mouse to work and leave it in my locker for a few days at a time, in an effort to cut down on computer time at home!

Danielle: It's so inspiring to read that you accomplished to run a marathon. How long have yo been running. I mean did you run for years and then decided for a marathon, or was it a goal after starting raw.. to start running.
I always had a dream of running a marathon, but now I don't even run 10 min :D
Everything has a beginning though.. and today I had mine.. Just hope I can keep it!

Hi all, I'm back as well! Day 3, yipee!
ok so far I've had:
green smoothie
banana granola= bananas, pecans, raspberries, and coconut with almond milk
power balls, 3, sunflower seeds, raisins, almond butter and honey
and thats it.
I'll probably have a banana lunch or something along those lines and a salad for dinner with some yummy dressing of some sort and a nut or carrot burger.
Wow, thank you so much for the congrats, everyone!! You are all so sweet!
Bagalamukhi, I've been running since I was 15, so 9 years. I've been running longer distances, 13+ miles, for about 4 years. I've definitely worked up to the marathon slowly, as I used to be prone to injuries when I was younger. Now, my body loves the mileage! Eating raw has definitely been a safeguard against injuries to some extent, and it just makes running more fun :-) I honestly don't know if I would have made it through the marathon if I hadn't been eating so much watery fruit in the days & weeks beforehand- so many people were too dehydrated to go on and had to be taken care of by the paramedics!
My advice to someone just starting out is to have fun, push just a little, take rest days when needed and sign up for a race- nothing motivates you to train like knowing you have a race coming up, whether it's a 5K or an ultramarathon!!

Here I am again, well my raw life is great and has been gret since my last post. I have decided to chime in again to be with some rawbies, feel more computer connected. Love the raw life.
banana
apple
grapes a handful
green smoothie 24oz
avocado
herb salad
greens with pesto
this is all by 3pm
I would like to think I am done. I heard someone say they had a banana smoothie. I think I have fullfilled my caloric intake but that really sounds good.

Craving liquid foods lately but still just as ravenous.
Had a watermelon and mint salad for breakfast and then throughout the day: a few glasses of o.j., a huge bowl of tomato soup, a piece of onion bread and red pepper with some zucchini hummus that The Husband made (this was a first - it was good), and a big cacao coconut shake.
We're stil up in Woodstock so after I was done with work The Husband, dog and I went for a shortish hike in the woods and did a little tempering with cold water in a stream along the way. I have to say, the going in the cold water part is sort of like WTF?!! but you do feel great after.

Haha I finally made a green smoothie, for me and a friend. It was excellent and I can't wait to make one tomorrow, along with salsa and collard wraps. I'm on a veggie kick. Or less-sweet kick I guess.
Today I had the green smoothie, strawberries, grapes, sugar snap peas, salsa and guacamole. Yummm. I crave salsa constantly and am buying tomatoes and cilantro every other day!
