I have to find my exercise "mojo" again.....it somehow got lost in the shuffle last month....

I am leaving for some more yoga training exactly 1 month from today & I'd like to be more fit for it......

I need to alter my exercise/movement to achieve this goal.....I'd also like to release some weight in the process!

How about YOU??

I'm back. April was a rough month for me for a multitude of reasons. May is already looking improved... may have something to do with my return to Green Smoothies as my breakfast meal. ;)

I'm going to shoot for some very light, easy exercises that will still get me off the chair and on my feet... but I'm still going easier on myself than I used to. :D

May Fitness Goals

Green Smoothies - Daily, for breakfast...this ALWAYS increases and stabilizes my energy levels, so crucial for my movement aims.
Walking - Daily for as long as I feel or don't feel... while in California for the next 15 days, this is easy... I walk everyday with my Sweetie... once I go back to AZ for Classes, this will have to become a conscious effort. Conscious habit forming... here I come!
Yoga - Nightly OR Morning for at least 10 minutes... I missed this in March-April after two months of regular practicing. Happy to get back to it!

I've been going & going & going all day today....like a little energizer bunny....

Started with mowing 2 lawns (gas push mower) - 1 1/2hrs
Then I completely cleaned out my car - window, dash, vacuuming, car wash
Then I washed down the front door & it's windows
Swept the entry way
Did dishes & wiped down the counter
Cleaned the bathroom (minus the shower)
All the while doing loads of laundry in between - just finishing up load #9 right now.....

I am DONE - my arms & legs are tired....

My movement for today = CLEANING! ;)

Hey GW - let me know if you find someone to hold you up - I may need a little prop too....lol

YAY! Glad to have found this thread! Been meaning to start exercising for over a year now, lol.
My goals ~ to get myself moving, to start and continue on a regular exercise plan besides walking, to walk the Wild Animal Park at least once a week. I think that's about a 3 mile walk, I'll have to invest in a pedometer one of these days to find out for sure.

my right knee has been hurting a little bit the last 3 times I've done yoga

Rub some magnesium into your knee. You can get a spray from your local health food store, hopefully. *hugs and healing energies sent your way*

Watch that you're not forcing those poses... I had ankle/wrist pain from going overboard in February with some fun stretches. Don't push through pain.

I sound like such a bossy big sister. Sorry. LOL

Lol @ bossy big sister :p
I am the manager at a small health food store & we have the magnesium spray - it is expensive..... I may just rub some arnica gel on it.

As far as the poses go - I don't think I'm forcing them - they are the same motions I've been teaching & doing for 4yrs now - I'll have to double check though....

Thanks for the advice big sis! :D

What kind of chakra cleansing/balancing do you do?

To be honest, I don't really know what to call it. I like to start with a breathing exercise I learned in a yoga-pilates class I took a few years ago, and then I just go naturally with what feels right... relaxing and getting in touch with different areas, feeling my energy and recognizing what feels stressed and such.
...It's all very informal.

What do you typically do/follow?

It totally should! I weighted less and ate way more when I was on my feet all day for my job(s). It had to be because I was burning so many more calories being on my feet and walking around and stocking shelves, etc.

Two hours digging, planting and moving dirt. I'd day that counts as a workout.

Spent Sunday getting up a good sweat. Another day of transplanting hostas and lillys. All that shoveling and raking really burned the muscles. And my yard looks pretty:):):)

I am loving all the walking one does in SoCal... between the generally lovely weather and the HIGH number of sidewalks and dog parks, me and the fur babies never lack room to roam!!!

Wow! Everyone has been so busy - keep up the good work! :D

Sunday 5/23/10

I mowed lawns for 3 hours  it was around 90 degrees with high humidity - not to mention a large section of lawn was about 2' high....I was sweating my booty off! I looked like a little tomato by the time I was done :p

Yesterday was Revvell's Self-Defense and Fitness Class (http://www.meetup.com/Self-Defense-Fitness-and-Fun/members/1309291/)... an hour of exercise, fitness and revelations about just what I CAN do for mySelf.

Plus my hunky sweetie came along and joined in, so I had a great target for my kicks... ;)

Today I'm planning more walking and Yoga!

I've been closing MOST nights (at least 5x's/wk) with several minutes of Yoga poses and stretches... focusing on deep breathing, and also including a little light rebounding (3-5 minutes, since we don't have a rebounder and are literally just hopping around) with my sweetie daily, too.
