Hi everyone,

I am excited to see who returns for this challenge and who else joins in this month. I am excited to return and she how much better I feel by the end of this month, how much my body changes and how much more natural it becomes to eat raw all of the time. I am on a 90 day raw challenge with my sister that ends on June 5th.

I am currently on a fast so no food to report about today. Just water and fresh juices.

Have a great raw day!

Hi

I'm joining for this month, and also made a commitment for 3 month.. until 29 July. But I definitely want to continue after that.
My purpose is to get rid of allergy and other health problems. And I want to loose a little weight. I will not weigh myself before 1 July :)

Today I ate two fruit salads and I will eat a big green salad later, with asparagus and avocados.
I started yesterday actually, and was in bed all day with a huge headache.. today I feel good again, and full of motivation and enthusiasm.

Have wonderful raw month everyone :)

Happy May all!! It's so springy here in upstate NY and all the leaves are out.

The Husband and I are planning on doing a hike here today - I think we're going to try to conquer the biggest mountain in the area - it's only a bit over 4000 feet but I'm nervous!!

I am feeling really panicky about having enough food for the hike. I just had two of the raspberry mole enchiladas I made last night (they were so delicious!! I put the recipe on ravenousrawvegan.com and in the recipe forum here) and a big glass of o.j. for breakfast. The Husband is still sleeping.

I've been so hungry lately and lots of cravings - it's day 37 for me and the cravings were gone for a while but now they're back with a vengeance. PMS maybe or even better would be I'm pregnant but I'm not holding my breath (we've been trying for a year).

So anyway, I think I'll make myself a coconut shake soon and then bring some leftover mock tuna and some corn tortillas and onion bread for the hike with some fruit and nuts.

I hope everyone has a great month and if you're new then welcome to the challenge! Last month was great.

I'm in! I was just thinking about how I want to get rid of the cooked foods I still eat. I'm like "Why am I STILL eating those after many years of being high raw".

Katy - have fun on your hike. I am hoping that I can get back into being active after years of feeling pretty terrible most of the time. I hope you are pregnant. Don't underestimate what eating right can do for your fertility. It can throw it off at first sometimes but, then it can really help. I got pregnant after being married for 12 years when I went on a special diet and lost 40 pounds. Of course it wasn't raw but for cooked food I was eating much healthier than my normal.

Well, I have to change what I am eating today. I woke up feeling awful. Fatigued all the way thru and weak. I don't know if it was a detox reaction from fasting this week or if it was just the lack of food with a pretty active week. If it was a Mon. I may have tried to stick it out but, my husband has a wedding today, I have an active 4 year old and a super messy house so I caved and decided to start easing out of my fast with a green smoothy. I don't know if I should just stick with the smoothy or if it ok to eat some fruit later in the day or not. I guess I will see how I feel.

I have some other goals for this coming month that don't have anything to do with raw but, maybe indicate that I have a problem with addiction. The internet being a major one. I have struggled with wasting time on the computer ever since we first got internet access in 1994. Actually, I think trying to control my computer use will be more difficult than food and that is saying a lot for someone who has been obese for most of her adult life. Sitting around contributes to bad health and I am not sure about the whole thing with whatever is being put out by the screen, etc. I am trying to think this thru today while I am cleaning and such. I know this is about raw food but, for me raw food is about being good to my body and life and being a great wife, friend and mother. It all links together somehow in my mind, so I hope no one minds if I put some of my goals out there as I work them out. It will help keep me accountable, especially because I will probably limit checking this to once per day - you'll know if I post several times a day.

I hope everyone is having a great first day and if this is your first time - the cravings will pass!!!!

Hi guys! Happy May!

I'm about to head to the race expo in Long Island to meet up with my family but I had a little time so I wanted to post in our brand new May Challenge thread :D

B: 6 bananas, 2ish T raw cacao powder...now it's gone and I'm not buying it again, I seem to get addicted to it!
w/o: 3 super easy miles, mostly to break in my new shoes before the marathon
L: half a mini watermelon. I'm still working on it, it's very filling!

No idea what the rest of the day will bring, but I'm hoping I can get a plain salad with some tomatoes for dinner, and I'm bringing lots of bananas so I have plenty of carbs. I doubt Long Island is raw vegan friendly!

Welcome to all the new challengers! Enjoy your weekends, I'll see you all on Monday!

I wish all of us a great raw journey. Welcome to a fresh new month everyone.

Meow: Have a great marathon! I can't wait to hear how it goes for you. You're amazing.

kgarrett: I'm sure I speak for the rest of this board, that you are free to share whatever you are working out. I agree, having to be accountable, even if just a board like this, can be a useful tool. ...Now get off the computer! :p

B: Smoothie: kale, banana, strawberry

First time at this challenge, my body is really telling me it needs nourishing foods, so im going to do it! So far today, a few apples and lots of water. I really notice that I am thirsty instead of hungry when im eating raw. Crazy how processed food clouds your mind. Looking forward to this month!! And a big salad later :D

Ah, another great challenge.

I started the day off with a mango/banana/romaine lettuce/ collard green smoothie. Delicious. I might head on out to Juicy Ladies, a vegan/raw little place.

Happy raw day!:)

Hey all,

The hike was good though our dog can barely move now (he's almost 10 :( ). Poor thing could barely get up the stoop to get in the house.

The mock tuna and onion bread were a perfect lunch on the hike. Had some golden raisins and a piece of raw chocolate for dessert and a banana when we got back to the car.

When I got home I was kind of exhausted and starved so ran out to get some pre-made guac and mango salsa (both fresh) to have with some leftover corn tortillas.

Then I had a coconut water. And then a green smoothie (just 1 cup - tasted a bit like rotten lettuce ) and then I just made tomato basil soup, which I love and it's so easy. (Just throw a couple of tomatoes and 1 -2 dates per tomato in the blender with a few spoons of olive oil and blend till creamy. Then add some basil and pulse to chop it in. Top with sea salt. Couldn't be easier or better.)

They had meyer lemons at the store here so the husband wants to make some meyer lemon almond pudding? Sounds weird but lately I've been a human vacuum for just about any food in my path so I'll try it.

I was browsing the cheez-it recipe in the recipe forum here on RFT and I may try to make them tonight (for a snack tomorrow). They look delicious. Maybe this could finally be a popcorn replacement for me. I need one!!

Good luck on the marathon tomorrow Danielle!! And congrats to everyone for starting the month on a good note :)

I can't count how many bananas I've had today but if I had to guess I'd say:
8? I also had about 10 cuties (clementines) and some dates, olives, and almonds, but not many.
then I had a smoothie for dinner with a banana!!!. Nothing green I'm ashamed to say. I don't know how that happened. I'll change that up for sure tomorrow!!!
No exercise as I'm getting over Bronchitis. I will do some running or kettlebells tomorrow- hopefully because exercise is key and I mean KEY!!!.
Back to CF on Monday!!!

Stayed raw and felt great. I'm taking it one day at a time and being easy. I'm tired of the stress!!!
peace out!!

Hi all and happy May...

Between breakfast, lunch and snack today I have consumed a whole very large watermelon, I also had 3 bananas and two large green salads..but I never really had them at regular meals, just throughout the day.
I also started walking my regular walks again, today I did only 2 miles..working it up to 6 miles a day, but will do it throughout a few days.

Yay hi everyone!

katy - I hope you are pregnant!

kgarrett - I can relate, and am also working on being more conscious with my activity in general, and spending less time on things that can be addictive, like the internet.

bootzey - I like that. I'm gonna raise the rod for myself and eat my green smoothies!

I'm turning 27 on May 8th, yay! And what did I eat on the 1st... strawberries, tons of food at my friends party - fruit salad, pico de gallo, guacamole...
I'm getting back to working out again after having back surgery last month, and am doing physical therapy, hiking, the elliptical. Will be able to do yoga and pilates after another 6 weeks or so. Might start swimming with a friend too!

katy. j your tomato and bazil soup sounds so good. i will try that tomorrow. my 30 day challenge starts today!!! i've tried a few days at a time here and there and five days have been my limit, but i now need to do it for longer. i feel great when i eat raw for the day and aweful when i mix some cooked foods into those days. so RAW for me!

i do feel a little fatigued when i eat only fruit and few veggies and do high energy aerobic workouts in the evening! what do you do to sustain your energy levels? bananas?

thanks!
