Hubby is pulling my dehydrator out to set up I'm excited to get started. Did anyone ever dehydrate sliced beets or string beans, how did they turn out?

I did to make some veggie chips but, they turned out too salty and chewy. I plan to try again though. Should I marinate them first?

I dehydrate sliced/chopped beets, but I make them very dry and then grind them to powder for smoothies. When grinding I add diatomaceous earth as an anticaking agent. I've not tried to eat any at an intermediate stage of dryness. They are tough and leathery, or even harder at the stage I take them too.

I know sweet potatoes come out nice, julienned with cucumber, for a raw slaw.

I've never dried green beans.

Well I tried a few green beans, and I thought they were awful, both taste wise and texture, I think I'll stick to eating them au'natural.

I did some green beens one time. MMM yup not so yummy. Except, I did snack on a couple about 3 hours into the process. Now that was good. Fully dehydrated...yuck.
