I love this challenge, too!
I'll see if I can figure out a way to post a link to my meal planning and shopping spreadsheets online for people - can't do it from the office unfortunately.
I can't believe the 30 day challenge is almost up!
I've been really good on the craving front until last night when I was suddenly hit hard but not even for anything I wanted last night - just that I wanted to be able to eat again in the future. I'm better today. It's funny, when I get a craving, they are so awful and I start convincing myself that raw is unsustainable and all this other crap. Really it's just my mind wanting some cheese fondue though and doing whatever it can to get it. It was bargaining for it on Christmas Eve. 8 months from now!
Well, so far I've been able to keep it under control for 34 days. And most of the time I feel really strong like I can do this forever but there are these moments... Cooked food really is addictive.
My onion bread was ready this morning!! I had some chia seed pudding for breakfast and I think it might be time to break out the first BLT of the day. We still had leftover eggplant bacon from last week - good to know it keeps in the fridge for so long. I guess it's more like jerky at this point so it should keep for a while. Except for the fact that I'm going to EAT IT.
Hey guys! I attempted to post but it wouldn’t log me in…attempt #2!
I am getting a migraine. I’m trying to breathe deeply and drink a lot of water. No pills so far but I’m at work so I might have to take something, we’ll see. If I was home I’d sleep it off!
S: banana
w/o: 5.5 mile run, dog walk
B: banana, plus a GS w/ 3 bananas (all I had was small bananas so I used 3), kale, strawberries & mango
L: 5 bananas and 2 small apples are packed for work
D: I think a salad w/ the usual- romaine/baby romaine, carrots, half cucumber, half bell pepper, half avocado & a tiiiiny bit of vinegar – trying to stop using it!
S: mango
I’m excited for May’s challenge!!

Okay, so i fell off the raw food wagon...boo, but onwards and upwards! I have to look at the positive and realise that I have fallen off for days, not MONTHS! So, here goes, I shall complete the rest of this month and make sure I am raw for the whole of May. I do believe I've come a long way because at one time I would have waited till May 1st to start again but I'm back on the wagon again and excited at how far I've come.
Brekkie - grapes, mango, strawberries, passion fruit, banana, hemp oil and greens smoothie
Snack - pistachios
Lunch - brazil nut butter, 2 tiny crackers, cucumber, tomatoes
Snack - dried mango and some raw chocolate
Dinner - sunny pate, veggie and a few crackers
Snack - raw bar (too much...was just being greedy!)
Because I've been off raw for a few days I feel I need the denser, heavier foods...I'm going to do fruit and smoothies tomorrow...throw myself into it.
EXERCISE - 20 minutes rebounding and 25 minutes yogalates

meow - your food sounds wonderful but I sure hope your headache goes soon.
katy j. - good job this month!
Gooberdog- love that you are thinking so positively - being kind to yourself in the right way - nurturing yourself - such progress. Great food and exercise to boot!
I so appreciate it when those of you who don't always manage to eat raw food post about it. This helps to encourage me and makes me feel less alone. I am feeling like I belong here more.
I'm feeling so enthusiastic about what we're doing again. I, like some of you am getting up again faster after having reverted to the SAD diet. Raw food is truly the best - makes me feel fab.:D
Guess what! I walked this morning around 7 a.m. after having awakened at about 6. That is pretty good for me as it's been a long time since I've been out of bed early.
And, I just had another walk! Now it is noonish. Same distance but faster! So that makes about 40 minutes walking in total so far today. Not sure how I'll feel about another one tonight. We'll see. Mood is up and I'm getting plenty done around here today.
Breakfast: Smoothie: 8oz ea - pineap, strawb, kiwi, oranges, red grapefruit.
Lunch: Another smoothie: 1 lb ea - strawb. & kiwi
Supper: Salad that will include: Strawb, cuke, red leaf lettuce, maybe kiwi (not crazy about them) with more strawb. blended for dressing. I will blend whatever I can't chew of this. Its a lb of greens! Could add a small amount of almonds for the dressing but I am avoiding them for a bit to see how I feel.
No, I had to change the supper - When I read the "menu" in the book again, I realized there is no way I could eat a salad this big and so I simply blended it in the vita-mix and changed it up a bit adding lots of pineapple, lots of cuke along with redleaf lettuce - lots and lots. Now I am about to go to drink this concoction. Hmmm - gosh, I guess I truly would be biting off far more than I could chew if I followed his suppers. Yikes. He divides the supper into 3 courses. I just have to make it easier. Blending is better at the moment. Maybe one can get used to this but it is going to be one day at a time. People doing this emphasize the importance of eating plenty of food to get enough calories. We'll see.
I am happy, happy, happy!:D

katy - you can upload spreadsheets to docs.google.com and then post that link if that makes it easier. I can relate to the cravings setting off all this philosophizing and thinking raw is unsustainable, and yes cooked food is SO addictive! We seriously need a 12 step meeting! I actually put the book 12 Steps to Raw Foods next to my bed last night to remind me!
Islegirl - yes! It is so helpful that people post even when they slip up, and then come back to raw! I sometimes feel like I can only be on here if I'm being perfect, but then that's just an excuse to do all or nothing.
So I haven't eaten yet today. Remind me to eat my green smoothies!!

Eat your green smoothies!!
I make my spreadsheets in iWork on my Mac and I know there's a sharing site on there but if i have trouble with that I'll try google docs. Thanks for the suggestion. 12 steps is by my bed too :)
Hey all, I'm still in, but I'm getting bored. I gotta spice it up somehow. I'm looking forward to this weekend as I'll have time to go into the living and raw foods "lab" to do some uncooking. We went from in the 30s this week to the 70s and this weekend it's supposed to be upwards of 90 degrees F. UGH, ok..Mother Earth is seriously cleansing herself.
Have a great day all!

Okay, google docs seemed like the way to go on this as it let's you download the excel file vs. iwork only let you download a numbers file (only useful to iWork users)
Here's the link:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AtFUrKcXNCiddFpkYXoyMHZKaUxib1hxTUNCMUtka 3c&hl=en
You'll see on the bottom there are actually 4 sheets - one has my prep times for favorite recipes or things I want to try soon (this is a work in progress), one has soaking and sprouting times, one has my meal plan for this past week, and one has my shopping list for this past week's meal plan. For the shopping list (in the units column) if it says "2" and it's apples that means two apples, if it's dates though that means two containers of dates or bags of almonds etc. (however I usually buy them), and if it's bananas then it's 2 bunches of bananas. My logic but it works for me :)
Feel free to download and do as you wish with it. Or just make fun of me for being such a geek. :P

I count myself among y'all who had a few non-raw days, this month, but who are still committed to this journey. ...I'll be going for it again, in May as well. :)
My blender blade is jammed up, again. ...Hope to find a used blender at the flea market this weekend. I can't imagine raw without my smoothies right now. I don't have many funds at the moment, so this is a raw foray on-the-cheap right now. Nothing fancy.
B: Smoothie: banana, strawberry, kiwi.
S: banana
L: Salad: greens, raisins, onion, o/v
S: carrot, raisin salad

Thanks Katy - that is awesome! My juice fast is going well. I find it actually harder than a water fast because my appetite doesn't turn all the way off as fast. Normally on a water fast my appetite is gone on day 3. I really love fasting because I am not eating anything so I don't have to think about trying not to eat it. I am looking forward to joining up again in May.

Hey everyone, I had a good raw day yesterday, though it was kind of crazy and I ate some stuff on the run, hence the weird menu.
B: corn tortilla
L: Salad, lara bar
S: some nuts and dates
I think I had some other stuff but truly cannot remember. That was a whole day ago!
