Does your body need a lot of complex carbohydrates?

I've read in some places that it does, but they were basing their information on a non raw diet which might be biased information anyway.

I'm trying to lose weight so I'm wondering if I need to eat things like corn or lentils on a regular basis.

Thanks:)

Have you gotten Alissa's book yet? She's got NUMEROUS stories of her clients eliminating weight eating raw.

Have you looked at the stories people on here have written in their blogs about weight elimination?

Eat corn raw; sprout lentils and enjoy!

This is my position on it.
The body can not use complex carbs and has to break them down into what it can use ie simple sugars. Simple sugars are what we need for fuel. Why give the body the job of breaking them down. Just cut out the middleman and give the body the simple sugars that it needs then it will not have to go to the trouble of breaking it down.

that's an interesting observation, sport. i suppose if you eat complex carbs in the evening, your body maybe wouldn't need them since you'd be going to bed so soon.
revvell, i've heard of the weight loss stories. i'm not used to eating a standard american diet though. i've eaten pretty healthy for a while. one thing was i was on the pill and i think that made me gain weight but i've been off it for a couple of weeks and excercising and following high raw. maybe it wasn't all water weight!

Neither was I. That has nothing to do with eliminating weight. I was vegetarian for MANY years before raw and still eliminated excess weight. Didn't do anything special. Mostly nut-based foods. Didn't have the resources we have here now.

thanks for the tips everyone. i'm thinking of eating a lot of seed sprouts in the evenings. i watch rawradianthealth on youtube and she suggests that. it also looks like they're pretty low in starchy carbs so..hopefully they'll keep me full!
