Hi,

I have type II diabetes. I am having a hard time with keeping my blood sugars down because some of my meds cause me to have high blood sugars so no matter what I do I have hi blood sugars.

Today I discovered that exercise literally lowers your bloodsugars. I exercised for 50 minutes on the treadmill and then tested my blood sugars and they were at 186 which is low for the past week or so. I asked my father why they would be low after exercising and he said because exercising uses sugar for energy and it uses up the blood sugars for energy.

I was so excited. I knew that exercise was good for diabetes but I did not know in this way. Now it makes sense to me and every time I get on the treadmill I will be this much more motivated.

I hope this helps someone with diabetes or pre diabetes.

Isn't it amazing that one of the contributing factors to the disease is also part of the cure?

I too have it (though I think I've totally reversed it now, just about) & when I had gestational diabetes, I was told if I exercised at least fifteen minutes after every meal it would greatly assist my body in processing the food without a sugar spike...
...hope that helps someone, too!

I have only been on raw for 3 weeks but my blood sugars are getting better apparently especially with exercise.

Now I am really motivated to exercise. I bought the treadmill just to help the diabetes but I didn't believe I would see the results literally with my own eyes.

I will look at it later this week. Thank you.

SPORT - I watched the movie. It was very good. I already knew most of that. I was raw a few years ago and am back again for good. I just ordered Alissas book and DVD. I cant wait to see the DVD. I exercised again today and my blood sugars went down about 50 points in 50 minutes of treadmill walking fast. I am so excited about this.

The more you exercise, the less you have to worry about cardiovascular disease, being overweight, or diabetes. All of these conditions can go hand in hand. Proper exercise may prevent, or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.

cant recall whereright now but recently watched a short video from doug graham where he said to many fats / oils are big problem in diabetes as they prevent the sugar thats in blood from being burnt up by bodies cells causing the sugars to just sit in the body which in turn causes problems . in closing he said eat all fruit want but cut down seriously on fats / oils

Off the top of my head, a variety of green juices.... maybe diluted. Also, beet, carrot, greens juice.

I have type ll diabetes also and my A1C is mid 5 to low 6, could say I am
non diabetic normal. Take 5mg glucotrol XL and 50mg cozaar for blood
pressure and to preserve kidney function. But let me tell you, when I was
really on the juice kick, less or little animal products and exercising, all the
numbers were normal without any medications. Your enthusiasm will wain,
try to stick with the good foods. Thanksgiving dinner is a clear example of
why the whole country is pre or diabetic. We eat too much, the gas tank
is never on empty.

Add to your exercise juicing and more raw foods and you really stack the
deck in your favor of avoiding the above conditions. The folks who live in
the Amazon living on a primitive diet and running thru the jungle chasing
down their dinner do not suffer from these degenerative conditions. It's
so simple it hurts-we don't exercise enough, we eat too much as well as
too much of the wrong foods-and the medical industry is counting on us
to continue this behavior. Jack Lalanne is 96, I'm 66, and when I watched
him as a kid, on my 12 inch Philco, I thought he was pretty old then. Also
leave the table while you're still a little hungry. There's lots of books on
the subject, but the one that got me going was Fit for Life by Mr. Mrs.
Diamond. Not only can you prevent or delay, you may be able to start
reversing these afflictions. Good Luck.

Eating raw foods and working out has cured my type II diabetes. My doctor was thrilled and so was I! lol

So keep up the good work! Eat healthy LIVE food and keep exercising!!!
