Great to hear - I am feeling pretty good myself this morning. I bought a big thing of strawberries and make some liquid chocolate. MMMmmmm. I am probably going to eat all of that today:) Some quac and veggies for dinner tonight at small group.
Good morning! Kgarrett, your chocolate strawberries & guac with veggies sound so delicious! I've been craving guac lately- perhaps I'll whip some up later!
I ran 4 miles last night and it felt AMAZING, I was running faster than usual but breathing so easily and I felt like I had rockets attached to my legs, like something was just pushing me forward. I ate 2 bananas about 10 mins. before heading out and I think that's key. So I tried it again this morning- ate SIX bananas (!!) with raw cacao powder, waited about 25 mins. b/c a bigger meal takes longer to digest, then headed out. I ran about 9.6 miles and it was awesome! I wanted to keep going, but my race is next weekend so I'm not doing double digit runs this week. I'm pumped for the marathon now that I've finally figured out how to fuel and what to eat before my runs. I am so excited b/c running is such a huge part of me, but before when eating raw, my running suffered so much. I think the key for me is eating loads of carbs (and not fat) as close to my run as possible. I'm planning on bringing dates to eat during the marathon as well as my water with Nuun, which is an electrolyte tablet.
So sorry for the novel, I'm sure no one even cares but I'm just so excited to have figured out how to run on raw food! That is the only reason I've stopped eating raw in the past, so now I'm set :D
FOOD!
-6 bananas w/ 2.5ish T raw cacao powder
w/o: dog walk, 9.6 miles, cleaning the apartment lol- my cats apparently had a kegger last night!
-not hungry yet but will have a green smoothie w/ 2 bananas, kale, frozen mangoes & strawberries and water for lunch
-apple
w/o: 30 mins. vinyasa at home- no time for a class today :( Actually I might buy a yoga DVD at Borders so if I do, I'll do that.
-huuuge salad w/ the usual- baby romaine, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, yellow pepper, and either half an avo and EVOO & vinegar, or salsa and guac!
-probably fruit salad w/ mango & strawberries
Have a lovely day!

Oh man, I've been super sleepy and don't have much appetite and am facing rough emotions. Also getting off meds at the same time, so lots changing in my body!
Still all raw though, it's only day 8 for me I think, but I'm very happy I'm sticking to it.
Ate some strawberries, grapes and young coconut, think that's all so far...

Ky - making so many changes at once can be so rough. In my limited experience staying raw is the most important. I don't know if you are trying to lose weight as well but, even though it may slow down weight loss, make sure to add in plenty of seed or nuts and maybe coconut oil and advacados. It slowed down my weight loss but helped with energy. Also the protein is really good for you brain. I was talking with someone last night who is going off meds soon and we talked about protein and the brain and her homeopath is stressing that with her to help with getting off of them. It is a long and complicated expanation. Also good fats are essential for your brain and mood.

Survived a day in the car, in meetings, and at a bakery and a regular restaurant. The husband made a green smoothie for the drive so had that for breakfast and some of the marinated portabello mushrooms from alissa's book that we made on thursday might. They're so good. Then had to head to a meeting so had a banana and a little cookie from one lucky duck and some cocoa krisps from there as well.
For a late lunch i had a tangerine juice and 2 Bananas from this bakery. The tangerine juice was fresh squeezed and delicious.
Dinner was a big salad at the restaurant with avocado, cucumber, red onion, and tomato. I haven't eaten meat in about a decade but I was drooling over my client's steak.
Went to see some old friends after dinner and they treated us to a big bowl of strawberries and blackberries. Oh, and a banana.
I finished off the mushrooms when i got back to the house where we're staying and hit the hay. It was a long day.

kgarrett- thank you for the support! I am committed to staying raw and I've been craving recipes with avocado and coconut and nuts lately, so I'll take that advice! Mmm carob avocado date pudding... lemon meringue pie...
Drinking fresh squeezed lemonade with agave right now, had some strawberries, kale chips, banana with coconut and walnuts, a young coconut. Looking forward to making salsa later with my friend! We go crazy and add everything in sight :)
