I'm not new to raw. Lost 30+ lbs last spring on a high raw diet and felt amazing. Lifestyle changes (and starting to cook for two instead of just one) caused me to go back to SAD. Add some birth control and BOOM, my weight and fatigue was right back where it was before raw six months later. That didn't take long...

I've become so overwhelmed in the past thinking I have to make special recipes, have special equipment, and adhere strictly or it wasn't going to work. Feeling defeated, I'd go back to my old ways. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, I WOKE UP and realized it didn't have to be this way! Two weeks of all raw during the day with a cooked meal at night (which the portions of are slowly getting smaller and smaller as I find my appetite diminishing), and I feel AMAZING. I spring out of bed in the morning with tons of energy before the alarm clock goes off - before I was a chronic snooze button hitter, making myself tardy so often at work my job was in jeopardy. And, for the first time, I actually felt the sickness of a detox. The symptoms seem to be disappearing over the past few days, along with the discovery that I've ditched about 4lbs! Sooooo happy.

I'm in now for the long term after realizing things don't always have to be so difficult that I give up. And if I don't have a perfect day, that's ok. Just as long as I get some fruit down at some point, life is good. And, hopefully, this feel good stage will never again be a temporary thing!
