Hi everyone! My name is Jolene and I am a Happily SAHM to 4 littles and another joining us in October. I am happily married to my highschool sweetheart...we have been together for 13 years and married 6!! We have 4 boys together..ages 6,5, 20 months and 7 months...we are also expecting in October...

Hubby and I have made the decision to change our familys diet over to High Raw organic Vegan. Hubby likes his meat but said he could love without, LOL! We did tis for health reasons..we also want to be non-suger and mainly go for gluten free as well...no dyes, no chemicals etc

We have some problems though...we live in a very small town in NY with HARDLY any organic food available...in the summer it will be easy to get produce locally but thats about all. There is a small corner store that carrrys organic foods and staples but it only holds a small quanity. As for the winter Im not quite sure of where to get anything at all...we do have a weagmanns but a very small one and they dont carry much organic produce and changing our diet to organic and raw...:(

So I came aboard to ask many questions, look for some online websites to order from, recipes, info and to make some RAW friends!!! :)

Welcome!! There are, what they call, co ops that you can order food from online and pick up at a location. I would do a search on the internet for one in your area.

Good for you!!!!!!!!!! I say if you are changing your ways so drastically at first good conventional veggies (well washed) can work for you. Especially if you are changing so drastically. Then from there it might be worth doing a big big drive to somewhere once every two weeks and stocking an extra fridge in the garage to get in the organic stuff. I buy both organic and conventional depending on where I am and what looks good. Whatever it takes to stay raw. Just definitely stay away from conventional strawberries, bananas, and grapes as they are loaded with pesticides. And, to be honest, although rich with fiber, I would wash and peel whatever possible to take in even less chemicals...

Hope this helps and you will have the healthiest, most glowing family on the planet!!! My daughter loves the green smoothies and the dried nori, and fruit (and all the yummy healthy desserts)...my husband sticks to meat, fish and cooked things and tastes all my salads and goodies. He loves seaweed salad and raw mac n cheese!

Good luck!

Don't know if this is functioning or not. The website is "under construction" and I got a busy signal at the phone. Supposedly a place that runs a delivery truck for whole foods. In my area, we have Azure Standard, and I buy lots of stuff from them. they run a truck out of Oregon all over the northwest.

New York is a mecca for organic farming, so there ought to be SOMETHING within a day's drive! What part of of New York do you live in?
