Hi Goober! Wow it's only 3:30am in Oregon but I slept a ton yesterday and might be up for the day today. I'm eating a pineapple, asian pear, grape, strawberry banana salad right now and will make that mock tuna salad and raw doritos later since I slept right through it yesterday! My schedule is so weird right now.

I am a little bit frustrated this morning. (not so much that I want to eat cooked food thought) I seem to be losing and gaining the same 2 pounds over the last week and a half. Ugh. If I only had 10 or 20 pounds to lose that would be ok but, I have about 80 pounds to go. Whenever I eat a recipe that seems to set me back. I can eat a handful of nuts but eating, for example, tuna salad made with sunflower seeds, makes me hold onto the weight. I don't know if it is just the calories or if there is really something to the food combining. Hopefully, I will be making up for it next week as I will be doing a juice fast with my sister. My goal is to go for the whole week - we shall see if that happens.
Anyway, food for today
I'll probably eat a lot of apples. Have a green smoothy and finish off that tuna salad for dinner.
Have a great day!
Good morning and happy Earth Day!
Kgarret, I tend not to lose as much weight if I include nuts & seeds in my diet. I'm trying (emphasis on trying, lol) to stick to only fats from fruit and see what happens. I think the juice fast will definitely jump start the weight loss. Also, if your body needs to do some healing, you may hold onto the weight as it will take care of that first and then drop some weight. Try to be patient and focus on the other benefits you're getting from eating raw!
I am detoxing like woah. I'm so tired, I have those little detox "spots" on my face which is very weird since my skin is usually clear, and I have had a headache for the past 3 days. It's ok though, I know there's stuff my body needs to get out! Just hangin' in there.
B: 4 bananas + 2 T. raw cacao powder to dip
S: apple
L: salad w/ baby romaine, yellow pepper, tomato, half an avocado and 1 T. EVOO with ACV
S: apple + 3 clementines
D: green smoothie w/ 2 bananas, kale, frozen strawberries & mango and water; smallish mango that looks soooo good, can't wait to eat it!
Have a great day and keep on trucking when it gets tough! It will be worth it!

Kgarrett, you are doing great eating raw. I suggest not weighing, but that's just me. It tends to add stress when someone is trying to loose weight. Consider that your body is changing & the number isn't moving....OR that your body is taking in every nutrient your giving it to heal. If your body is craving the recipes I say eat them. After a while your body will want lighter foods, but if it means keeping on some lb's for the sake of what your body is wanting...I say eat it :)
B: 1/2 pear......smoothie with bananas spirulina/ wheat grass/ maca & kelp powder
L: Salad with spinach sprouts tomatoes green peppers carrots & mushrooms
D: fruit
Snacks will be fruit

Oh man, I've been craving cooked veggies. Which is not the unhealthiest craving I've ever had, but still... need to be getting some more veggies! Salad, green smoothies, veggies and dip, stir-not-fry, collard wraps, sandwiches with onion bread...lasagne, raw pasta... ok there are a lot of options. Good!

I'm having cravings again today but they're not for cooked food!! They're for onion bread and Eggplant BLTs and Tuna Salad. Sadly I can't make any onion bread till Sunday night at the earliest because we're going to RI for the weekend (leaving tomorrow morning as I have clients to see up there) and draw the line at the vitamix for equipment to bring :) So anyway, no onion bread in my future till like Tuesday morning at the earliest :( But at least I'm not craving cheese :)
Looking forward to the weekend away but I'm a little worried about not being able to make as much food - both for the weekend and the week after this. I need my Sunday prep days to have enough on hand for the week. Oh well.
Last night I was so hungry so I had some tuna salad on celery sticks and a bit on our last piece of onion bread. Then I had two dates stuffed with almond butter - I was craving a cookie!! - this was a first for me. Not bad and it definitely took care of the craving. Also had some strawberries with chocolate sauce.
Thus far this morning I've had some chia pudding with a banana sliced up on it.
There's a pineapple-banana-spinach smoothie in my future and then some guac with corn chips. Yum. And probably a few bites of the leftover tuna salad in my fridge. Not sure about dinner. I think The Husband may make us spinach pakoras today and maybe pesto stuffed mushrooms so we have food for the weekend. If he does we'll probably eat some of those for dinner, too.
Hey KGarret, I'm with Kylarei. Day to day is not so important to focus on - look at the longer term trends - like see where you are a month from when you started. I don't think weight loss is linear so just hang in there. The raw food is getting you healthy and getting too restrictive might make it harder to stick with it.
As an aside, do you put salt in your tuna salad? I know I did when I made it so that could just be leading to some temporary water retention and not be anything to worry about :)
**Back to add: I had a whole pineapple, a bunch of bananas, and a big bag of spinach here at the office that I needed to use by the end of the day so I made two blenders full of green smoothie and put it in cups out at reception for people to try. Everybody loves it!
I'm sure they've all been curious since I walk around with a mason jar full of the green goo almost every day. So today they got to try it. A good way to celebrate Earth Day.
Hey all, blissed out over here. I'm doing a liver/gb flush this weekend, and I can't wait. I feel very good, I have no complaints. Today I've had my Brazil nut milk, blueberry and banana smoothie and that's it so far. I have the leftover collard salad from yesterday, some fruit and some cashews to last the day.
I'm pretty happy with this month long challenge and plan on continuing for at least 3 months. I won't talk about what I'm thinking about incorporating after that. My clothes are fitting looser which is nice. I'll have to go to the gym starting again tomorrow as I haven't been able to go the past two days, but I did get in Monday and Tuesday so that's great!
It doesn't matter what happens to me throughout the day. As long as I meditate, pray, journal and run some type of Reiki I'm good to go. Eating raw is like that icing on top of the cake. Woo hooooooo!
Have a fantastic day all! :D

katy.j I wish I worked with you :)
Ate 3 pieces millet bread last night with my dinner salad and I realized this bread is holding me back! :( Its the only non raw thing I eat and can't seem to stop. So after losing all control over it, I threw the rest of the loaf in the freezer! That way, i'll have to actually wait for it to defrost before gobbling it down. Phew!
Gave my digestion a rest this morning by only taking in water until about 11am. So far today I've had 1/2 watermelon, an apple, 3 bananas, 2 c grapes. Tonight for dinner I'm having a raw coleslaw thats been marinating since yesterday. And the other half of my watermelon. YUM. Have a nice evening everyone!

WONDERFUL day today!!! Walked from my flat down to Borough Market (for a 6-mile round trip), this fantastic market with all different types of amazing food, where I picked up some green smoothie ingredients. Am doing a mostly green smoothie feast, but tonight I really wanted something solid so I had a sort of "deconstructed" green smoothie...
Breakfast: green smoothie (banana, spinach, stevia)
Snacks at the market: fresh grapefruit juice, "green deluxe" juice (spinach, apple, celery, parsley, spirulina... and something else wonderful that I can't remember)
Dinner: two handfuls of lollo rosso (red lettuce?) with two organic pears, chopped and eaten together (no dressings)

We had such a long day today. My son and I both had doctor's appointments, and the offices were about 2 hours away. We left the house this morning at
10 am, and didn't get home till 7 pm!!
I packed and took with me....
1 Banana
1/2 large Papaya
Stopped by Whole Foods on the way home, and the organic peaches were on sale and looked SOOOO good. I asked the produce man if they were sweet, and he cut me one up :D It was very sweet, so I ended up buying several pounds!!
When I got home I was starving, but not wanting fruit, I wanted salty, so I fixed....
1 Avocado
Sea Flakes
lots of celery diced up real small
little soft bits of my pulp patties that I had dehydrated last night ( I won't be able to eat much because of the fiber, and my stomach issues)
3 Bubbies Pickles
It was very good, but I got so bloated right after :(
I had a couple of bites of the Key Lime Sorbet that I made while I was fasting, and stuck it in the freezer for later. Well, tonight was later ;)
And it was so so good!!! I used 3 Avocados, Juice of 2 limes, and Raw Honey ( I think it was 1/2 a cup, but maybe it was 1/4, I can't remember)
Process till really smooth, pour into a container, then freeze. You could not taste the avocado at all, it tasted like creamy lime sherbet. YUM!!!

donnyandcathy - The lime sorbet sounds sooo good! I'm making that after I try making lemon meringue pie from Alissa's book.
I'm so happy to come on here and here how well everyone is doing! Keep up the good work. You all inspire me.
Let's see, what else did I eat? Pico de gallo (I'm hooked again), some cacao buckwheat granola bar, banana with agave, coconut and walnuts, mock tuna salad, taste of my raw doritos (turned out pretty good).
The mayo for the tuna salad was pretty intense so I think I'll add some more nuts and coconut water and make it into a veggie dip :)
