For about a month or so now I have been getting a strange discomfort sometimes can be more uncomfortable than other times but never severe. Its one inch down and about 3 inches to the right of my belly button. The pain never moves though. Could this be digestive? I'm in the middle of a slow transition.

could be large intestine - remember your appendix is on your right side also - the point is about half way between your belly button and the top of your hip bone.

careful - because appendix flare-ups/attacks often start up with constipation and pain.

not sure if you are female, or your age, but this is also an ovary area. could be some stickiness, mucus, or endometriosis in the ovary-fallopian-uterus area, too. if you are, of course, female. :)

try some self-massage and light heat, starting in the lower right quadrant and use small circular motions that trace the path of the large intestine and see if that helps.

you can also see an acupuncturist. sorry to cross into this question, but just something for you to think about: are bowel movements normal at this point or have they changed? have you tried any sort of bowel cleansing or fasting?

definitely want to be vigilant if this changes to a more serious pain or starts to radiate to other areas.

Thanks so much for the reply, I am female, I do have ovarian cysts, but am taking herbs to get rid of those, but that discomfort is much lower, more like an ovulation pain; also I dont think its my appendix because thats much lower, but will definitely look into that for sure. As for as the bowels go, without going to details, they arent "regular", they used to be when I drank a lot of coffee back in the day though, lol. I may try fasting first to see if I get any results

We don't all have textbook bodies and pain can travel. I had the appendicitis last year for months and nobody caught it and I had no idea either. None of my google searches taught me that the pain could be absolutely nothing during the day and miserable all night long. In my case I also had the back pain but my husband insisted that it was my footwear. Was at a couple of doctors and none of them caught it. Personally I'm not so smart with anatomy and I am not so good at feeling what is where under the skin either.

If it is a blockage of the bowel I'm not sure fasting will get rid of it just because I know my body does not work to rid itself of intestinal waste when I fast - well yes I can force it with those salt water flushes and stuff like that but mostly my body decides that it will keep everything. I have done well with the psyllium regularly to rid myself of blockages but mine tend to be further up. Also I really like to keep the slippery elm bark powder around to make sure things aren't stagnating in there. It's very gentle.

I knew a lady who knows how to do the massage like rawvive writes. I have a child who was born severely constipated and she would do the motion like rawvive says and it worked wonderfully for him. She had magic hands. We spent hours trying to rub his stomach there just like she did and we just never could get it the way she did.
