Hi all :). Do you do anything to chia seeds before you use them in smoothies?

I put the seeds in a jar with water, about 1 Tablespoon seeds for a 1/2 cup of water. Put on the lid and shake, continue shaking a couple more times every few minutes to prevent clumping. Let sit for half an hour, toss it all, seeds and gel, into a smoothie.

You can also make a larger batch to have on hand. Store it in the fridge and scoop it out whenever you need it. I was told it will last up to two weeks, but I've never made more than I can use in a few days.

I soak them for five minutes, if that. If I blend them, no biggie.

If I'm adding them to juice, they are a little crunchy. no biggie. :)

I soak them for five minutes, if that. If I blend them, no biggie. Except you're not getting the full benefit of nutrients, which defeats the purpose. The longer they soak, the more nutrients are released. 15 minutes should be the minimum if you have to use them quickly. Several hours even better.

the seeds continue to soak in my drinks. I can take up to 30 or more minutes to drink a frozen drink and 20 to finish a juice.
