CAn anyone recommend a nutritionist that is raw and vegan friendly? My ex is taking me back to court for a custody battle one of his issues being my diet. I have the kids dr's approval on their diet. he says that they are very healthy and doing extremely well. however i would like to get that from a nutritionist as well. Since he filed i have been tracking what they eat. They eat a high raw vegan diet.
Suggestions???
Thanks. Not sure where exactly to post this so i hope here is ok!

The results are on your side, if your children doing extremely well, what would be his suggestion, to force them to eat something else they don't want? Never touch a running system, and your system seem to work.
Strength and success!!

Shaking my head. Sorry to hear that your x has to fight with you over such a silly thing. I suppose if you were feeding overly processed junk...he'd be okay with that. Hang in there.

Ugh - so sorry to hear this. Not uncommon when a battle is already in play to add the diet and kids into it. :(
There is a Raising Raw Kids section that might help - I've met women in similar circumstances. Good luck with everything.

Just wanted to echo the post about what is his alternative.... processed junk food!? Oh, the misinformed! Request a letter from your doctor if you can't find the nutritionist. Good luck!!

Dr. Joel Fuhrman @ drfuhrman.com. He has a practice out of New Jersey but he is nationally known on his expertice in nutrition.
He wrote a book on the nutritional value of feeding your child this way: " Disease–Proof Your Child."

Where do you live, Ariella? Are you looking for someone local?

Just a thought....devil's advocate. If you can find someone to say what you are doing is right, he will likely be able to find somone who says what you are doing is in someway harmful for whatever reason that one not studied in the area could produce.
I would think a doctor who knows the kids and has seen to their changes/growing and how they are doing now would be more impactful...more personal.
Personally, yeah I'm on your side here, but you have to expect people to grasp at straws when it comes down to it.

Dr. Adiel Tel-Oren in Minneapolis. He owns a raw vegan restraunt and gives free lectures to the public on health. His business is called Ecopolitan and you can look at his website at ecopolitan.com. His CV is there and he also has a CD called "Should you cook your food" which could be brought to your court case. I would thouroughly look at his website as there is much information there. He also does telephone consultations and travels to his clients as well.
Good luck

thanks i will check some of those things out! i do have a letter from the childrens dr who has seen them their entire lives that says that careful consideration should really be given before changing the childrens diets. That they are healthy and thriving and doing well.
My ex is just being a butt. :( It is more than diet but that is a piece of it.
As far as finding somebody while grasping at straws, I am not necessarily grasping at straws. I just thought if i also had a nutritionists opinion/letter that based on whatever it is they look at the kids diet is healthy and sound.
My ex wants to start feeding them meat. He does just feed the mjunk food already while they are at his house - cereal, french fries, pop corn (which is my daughter is allergic to and not supposed to have but he gives it to her anyway!) That is his idea of a healthy diet. Thankfully he doesn't feed them very many meals. Because his idea of nutrition is very very poor.

i should say he signed an agreement in the divorce decree that said he would keep the kids vegan and now he is fighting me on it. I took half the money i was supposed to get so he would do this. Argh!!!!!

I live in colorado. Doesn't have to be local i dont think. I have a record of what they have been eating so i imagine they could look at that and go through the numbers or however they make it work?

Ha, no...I meant him grasping for something to get at you with, not you! It sounds like if it is something else he can try to aggravate you about. Sort of illogical, too, but that is just my thought.
You are doing a great job from what it sounds like. Sorry for the confusion.
