Good morning! I hope it's a beautiful day where all of you are!

I'm feeling almost 100% better today, however I still don't feel like running at all, which is stressing me out b/c the marathon is less than 2 weeks away and I don't want to lose any fitness or muscle. I do feel like going for a power walk, so that's what I'm about to do.

B: small mango (champagne mango?), 3.5 junior bananas w/ 1 T raw cacao powder
w/o: 30 min. dog walk plus 1 hour power walk along the East River
L: green smoothie w/ 3 junior bananas, frozen strawberries & mangoes, kale, water and 1 T coconut oil
S: apple (or 2)
w/o: 1 hour hot power vinyasa
D: out to a new vegetarian restaurant, Otarian- getting a salad w/ greens, tomatoes, avocado, hopefully other veggies...have to see what they have!
S: fruit if needed

I'm trying to only eat fats from fruit today (avos & coconuts) and I'll see how that goes. The nuts & lara bars are weighing me down!

Katy, thanks for the tip on where to find coconuts! I will try to hunt some down!!

Morning all! Yup, it is a beautiful day in my neighborhood today! I feel wonderful! I went to the gym yesterday evening and man, I don't know what I was missing, so my goal is to go 3x/week then bump it up to 4-5, and I'm good unless I change my mind.

Today I have:
-Green smoothie with pineapple, collards, spinach, kiwi and bananas
-A kick azz salad with some great fixings - gr/red leaf romaine, gr onion, olives (forget what kind), sugar/snap peas w/dill dressing I'm finishing up. I can't wait to make Alissa's herb dressing (that's yummy)
-marinated crimini mushrooms with parsley, cilantro, red onion, lemon juice, eevoo, tamari and curry (YUM)
-Snacks: pineapple, golden apple and kiwis

It's already a great day. I got my spiritual armor on, which is meditation, prayer and Reiki...WOOT!

I still CANT wait for juicey fruits to be in season. I'm keeping an eye out at the farmer's markets.

Have a fantastic day! :D :D

Hey all,

Happy Tuesday to you.

Good luck hunting down the coconuts Danielle. I'm eating one now.

Our onion bread was finally ready this morning (the Matt Amsden recipe in Rawvolution) so I'm going to have an eggplant BLT for lunch. Or maybe a late breakfast - I'm hungry!

(10 Min Later... ) Yep, breakfast and it was delicious. Oh my God so good! I kind of can't believe it.

I think that was my third attempt at making that onion bread and I could always tell it had potential but had never gotten it right. I think the first time I didn't catch the fact that you were supposed to grind up the flax seeds or maybe I just did them in the cuisinart and that didn't get them fine enough. The second time was pretty tasty but I spread it out too thin and it wound up more like onion rings. Tasty onion rings but definitely not bread.

And this time... bread. Delicious amazing bread. I wound up mixing some of the onions in with the sunflower seeds in the cuisinart so that the "dough" would have a little more substance. Anyway, came out great.

I'll have another sandwich later and have some strawberries in the fridge. Will likely run out for a green smoothie at some point.

And then I think we're going to hit Quintessence for dinner. I have to stop getting their mexican food cause it's just not a replacement for the real thing and it winds up making me angry.

Oh, and Danielle... have you read that book Born to Run? Apparently they eat chia seeds on their ultra long distance runs.

Good morning! Beautiful day here too. Can't wait to get out for a run after work.

B- Carrot, apple & ginger juice. This is my favorite juice ever. I could live on it. Too bad my lips are bright orange ;)
L- whole watermelon
S- raw veggies & hummus (not raw)
D- Salad

Have a great day everyone!

For a change, it's beautiful here in England too! LOL!:D

Brekkie - spinach, banana and date smoothie
Lunch - leaves, tomatoes and some macadamias (was so surprised that it tasted yummy without any sort of dressing on it!!!)
Snack - a few pieces dried mango and a few raisins
Dinner - sugarsnap peas, baby sweetcorn, courgette, tomatoes, olives, pak choi, sunflower pate and a few crackers
Snack - raw bar

Made some courgette houmous today and although I think it tastes okay, the texture is a bit moussy for me. Have made a load of sunny pate too, tried and tested old faithful!

Working my way back to being 100%

Started the day with a young coconut, banana, mango smoothie. yum.

Will be finishing up all the raw food in the house today, as we're traveling tomorrow. So need to eat 4 bananas, 4 tomatoes, 1 pear, mixed greens, and half an onion... in some creative way, most likely not all together!

Feeling good, but the next week will be critical to getting back into the raw groove. It will be all fruits and salads... I hope it won't be too difficult to get enough calories, as I won't have control of my portion sizes at the resort.

cheerio!

I think I'll try making that onion bread when I'm back.

Today is a banana day. Seriously, I ate like 5 or 6 bananas today. I also had a pack of go raw crackers that were on sale and one apple. I'll probably have a snack later.

The exercise seems to be kicking in and I can feel my endurance getting a little bit better.

I got it from rawvolution -Used 3 onions sliced into thin rings with the slicing disk in my cuisinart. 1 cup of flax seeds that I ground up in a coffee grinder - you want to get them fine. 1 cup of sunflower seeds chopped up in cuisinart blended with 1/4 cup nama shoyu, 1/4 cop olive oil. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and then spread on a telex sheet in the dehydrator and dehydrate at 105 for 24 hrs then flip onto mesh sheet for another 12 hrs.

Oh, and I took some of the onion rings ( a handful?) and ground them up with the sunflower seed mixture before mixing everything together. I think that was it. Just going off memory.

Hi, everyone, yeah, onion bread, need to make me some of that. I like the non-namashoyu version. I printed the recipe from this site. Very mellow and delicious. Even non-raws love it.
Today was all raw and I did my exercise too. Now I am terribly sore and not feeling so great. It was beautiful here but I spent the whole day inside sewing.
B-Green smoothie of banana, strawberry, and spinach
L-handful of cashews and a lara bar, and an orange
S-spinach salad
Snack-Serious cravings going on so I broke into my emergency stash. I have a sample jar of artisana cashew butter, which I ate on some dates. Yum
Now I am sipping some detox tea in bed and plan to hit the hay soon.

Today was day 2 off my fast, so I was still taking it easy.

Honey Dew
Cantaloupe
Banana
2 Apples
About 7 Strawberries
Tonight I added in some flax crackers I had made last week when I was juicing, and had all my left over pulp.
I still have the rash. It will go down some, and as soon as I eat something, doesn't matter what, it will come back, and my skin feels prickly. It doesn't itch, and it's not really red. Very strange!!!
As soon as I ate the flax crackers, my tummy bloated up and the rash seemed to get worse???? :(

Meow - good idea on getting your fats from fruits, definitely will leave you feeling lighter than nuts or energy bars. maybe even feel like running again asap!

katchmoleen - what is the non nama shoyu version? I love the onion bread but would rather not use nama shoyu...

Today I had a few bananas, some sweet potato chips with agave and cinnamon (trying to quit using agave and use blended dates/water in recipes instead), strawberries, apple and walnut butter, some Pure bar, and...

some pineapple mango pico de gallo!! That was the highlight of my eating... I haven't made pico for a long time, and I used to make a huge bowl of it several times a week. Mmmmmm... want some of that tomorrow too. And one of my young coconuts!

Anyone have any favorite recipes using young coconut juice? I like it okay but would rather use it in some interesting recipes. Rawvolution uses it a lot but I'm not sure what I want to make. The thai soup is good but too oily and nama shoyu-ey!

Yum, that pico de gallo sounds good. What did you eat it with?

I love making coconut shakes with coconut water and the meat. Just blend both from one coconut up with some cacao or carob powder (2 tbsp?) and some agave or maple syrup. So good.

You could also try red pepper coconut soup which I think is just the meat from a couple of coconuts and the water from 1 blended with some red pepper (I'd go half a red pepper on this). Also really tasty.

The coconut shake and red pepper soup sound awesome, thanks katy!
Anyone tried making cream of broccoli soup with young coconut? Hmmm....

And I just eat my pico de gallo with a spoon :) But if anyone knows a really good corn chip recipe I'd love to hear it! I've tried a few times and no luck. Thinking I'll try the Raw Food Real World recipe at some point.

You're welcome!

My husband made the cream of broccoli soup. If you like the taste of raw broccoli then it might be okay. I don't so I thought it was gross

And raw corn chips are great. I use 2 bags of frozen Corn, 1/2 onion, and maybe a half cup of ground up flax seeds? All thrown in the cuisinart and blended pretty fine. When you spread them out on a teflex, you want to do it pretty thick (like 1/4 inch at least) cause there's a lot of water that dehydrates in there. I did them too thin once and they came out like paper islands on the teflex.

I kind of wing it every time but they always come out good.
